TWU negotiations.........what?

The int. can accept the t/a because the int. owns the membership. If they do that they can hide behind the claim that it is in the best interest of the membership.

Thanks for bringing this up, Ken!

Does everyone UNDERSTAND this statement??????????????????????
At the end of the day, the INT'L can ACCEPT the T/A on behalf of the membership. Little made the same claim had the 2003 concessionary contract been rejected.
He stated he was ready to ACCEPT it.

So, once again, when AA claims they are on the steps of the bankruptcy court, the INT'L WILL ACCEPT WHATEVER THE COMPANY IS FORCING DOWN OUR THROATS..

I hope everyone understands that this is how it will go down if the membership either does not get to vote on another T/A or it gets rejected.

<_< ------- Waaaaaa!!!---- Look who's crying now!!!------ And I thought the IAM was screwed up!!! How's your seniority going to help you now Hopeless? ----- Have a good day!!! :D :D :D

So, the meetings had no movement and just wanted to get a feel for what each were asking for in the remaining open articles. Agreed to meet again Oct.3. What a joke. I guess with no mediator and the mighty union agreeing to it, this can go on till eternity.......

So after almost four years of "Negotiations" we need to get a feel for what each side is asking? I want my dues money back!

Stay informed.

The M&R Negotiating Committee appreciates your patience and support as it works toward an agreement.

National Mediation Board Releases RLBC Rail Unions From Mandatory Mediation in National Freight Rail Negotiations

They carry 90% of all rail freight in this country, and have only been in mediation since this the beginning of this year. The contract was only amendable less than 2 years ago.

But yet we can't get released. Hmmmmmmmm

Who's crying TrannyBoy?
And my seniority is just fine, thank you very much tranny....

You see, tranny, I am of retirement age..I can leave now without penalty. And should AA go BK, I would not take too much of a hit should the pension get turned over to the PBGC.

And If you think by calling me "Hopeless" I am going to lose sleep tonight, keep trying.

You still haven't figured out that "Hopeful" is a sarcastic handle, have you?

If i chose "Hopeless" instead of "Hopeful" would you try to insult me by calling me "Hopeful?"

Now getting back to my post that you felt sooooo necessary to try to get my goat on...People need to realize that at the end of the day, the TWU can accept the T/A on behalf of the membership.
People need a reality check!

Let's go AMP Let's go AMP Let's go AMP, where? you actually think this company is going to negotiate any different.

You know, as well as everyone reading these boards AMP never said that the company would negotiate any differently when we get certified. What is being said is that AMP would negotiate differently than the twu.

I would rather have people who negotiate for me being held accountable by the membership and who live under the contracts they actually negotiate. Rather basic form of democracy.

LET'S GO AMP!

The ignorant can't seem to comprehend this concept!!

Slightly different situation... You had a coalition of unions bargaining with a coalition of railroads.

It hasn't worked out so well given that some railroads are in a far richer position than others, and also because the UTU didn't stick with the coalition anchored by the IBT. But those unions also use professional negotiators, which means the RLBC had their act together when the mediation started. They don't waste their time by showing up in matching polo shirts, spending important meeting time saluting the flag, or shooting YouTube videos trying to make promises that may or may not be attainable/sustainable.

I'd expect UPRR, BNSF, CSX, NS, KCS CP, and CN to come to agreements with the IBT (I've lost track of who represents who at the Class 1's). The other 20 shortlines and regionals? Dunno. Some of them are on shaky ground. Amtrak? You know Pharaoh and Biden will act in their best interests, since voters in Illinois, New England, and California are also the ones riding Amtrak's busiest routes...

When all else fails take matters into your own hands...

"
The confrontation between West Coast longshore workers and an anti-union exporter exploded as pickets massed on railroad tracks by the hundreds yesterday to block grain shipments.

Police used clubs and pepper spray on protesters in Longview, Washington, as they made 19 arrests.

Early this morning a terminal there was invaded and hoppers holding about 10,000 tons of grain were opened onto railroad tracks."

We don't know if we will get released or not. We have not asked. There are loads of opinions but if you go to the NMB website the chart is clear where you go when the mediators give up,which they have.
Getting released and going on strike are two different questions. Getting released puts us on a 30 day clock, we would be offered binding arbitration or possibly be referred to a PEB or be released to self help which would open up several more scenarios.

Didn't the local presidents vote not to get released. I know everyone wants to blame the mediator for walking away from doing his job, but the NMB can also point out that the union voted NOT to be released. The union leadership spoke loud and clear.....You don't want release....so please stop talking about what a release would do for US.

Bob, in all fairness, why doesn't the union leadership just be honest with the membership about this charade WE all call negotiations. 39 months into this thing and our local presidents aren't even on the same page. This whole thing is just getting old, and the actions of the presidents are not helping the membership.

You ALL need to get your act together, or ELSE...........the membership's action by signing green cards will do it for you!
