TWU negotiations.........what?

Bob,
Have we been communicating with the other work groups to come up with a joint solution to these stalled negotiations? Also, has AA ever opened thier books to the unions, to show us exactly where all our profits are going?

There has been some communication between the unionized groups, theer was a Joint letter put out not long ago between the APA, APFA and TWU.

Opening the books, well I dont see that happening. For at least two years the union has requested cost outs from the company, they have not produced any. I have a good guess where the extra $4 billion plus the $1.7 they got from the workers is going, the oil companies, the banks and other vendors such as airports and parts suppliers. The more they get from us the more they can charge the airlines.

Bob,
We go back to the table Feb 7, the day after the Superbowl, odds are the company negotiators will be hung over from partying in our suite at Jerry World. Try slipping them our 2001 contract plus full retro before lunch.

Thanks for the above info

What happened to the company presentation to the Presidents Council and the confidentiality agreements?

Who signed? Who didn't sign?

Did the presentation take place?
Who was present from company and union?

Sure got quiet about that real fast.

The question at hand is whether the union members of the this union nationwide will have to something to say when the company rejects the negotiation comittees contract proposals? I hear alot of noise but thats all I hear. It seems as long as the company throws overtime at some stations there is complacency and blind expectations.
With the UPS mechanics tentative agreement of:

$ 50.13 per hour end of 2013
Fully paid Medical
4 years retro
.
The position is that our responsibilities for the maintenance of aircraft does not change between airlines. The manufacturer's maintenance manual is the same for all.

This contract demonstrates how underpaid we are as professionals!

I would think that this contract will pass for the UPS mechanics and I wish them well.

Absolutely on target! Now we're talking! Hey Chuck....throw in a very liberal CS Policy the guys love!

I think its time for our local leadership to start pounding the pavement to educate the membership on what other AMT's in the industry are earning. It seems like most of the info being posted and passed out is on the legs of AMP organizers. This message board is good, but not the best way of communication. We pay dues to This Worthless Union to be informed, myself and other AMP organizers talk to AMT's, OSM's, Parts washers, Machinists, and title 2 facilities mechanics everyday about what is going on. (OR NOT). Regardless, its one on one face time that counts, not a flyer behind glass that says, Union meeting this Wednesday. I give AFW a C- for communication.

If your not getting the information then your local leadership is to blame. The President has the resources and time off the clock for the information. Your Board should be pressing for iinformation on behalf of their members. Industry information is important to follow as it may effect or help us. We don't have any information issues at local 562

I am waiting to hear the excuses on how the UPS contract does not apply to us from the company and others.

I would just like to know who signed any confidentiality agreements and was the company presentation given to the Presidents Council in exhange for signing. That should be simple enough information to obtain.

You can go ahead and ask each President if you like, I didnt sign it last time and I wasn't told to leave. I did not ask for, discuss or expect anyone else to take the same position I did, I personally just did not feel comfortable signing it.

The only time I was told to leave a meeting for not signing a Confidentiality Letter was when I did not sign the Confidentiality agreement that several AA/TWU Presidents, including your former President, pushed through at an IAC meeting. I did sign a letter later after running it past our board. It was agreed that taking the stand and being out of negotiations was not the best strategy. IIRC I ran it past the membership as well.

Last year they showed the presentation anyway, it was about their plans for Cargo, how with the retiring of the A-300 their capacity would be down but they made more money by flying less anyway. I'm guessing they did the same this year, I think they want the Presidents to hear what they have to say more than they want the letter signed. For me its my stubborn Irish temperment, I took the content and tone of the letter as demeaning and felt it addressed us as subordinates.

Not sure thats always the case. I happen to be fortunate that our board does most of the Local issues and a membership that doesnt expect to see me everyday walking the floor, which allows me to collect and get more info out. I know some Presidents have memberships that even expect Presidents to put forth grievances, which as you know, I dont touch.

So as always, we have no idea where our TWU Leadership or Negotiators stand. And we have many that cannot even tell us the facts as we move the snail along.

Imagine that

Note: Except One

We are on the right track and We'll get 'em next time, Brother

I call BS on this one. Personally, I haven't heard anything of the sort around TUL.

I do believe Sam Cirri canceled these TWU hidey-hole positions.

I think the only hiring off the street is cleaners. I do believe there are AMT's still out there that haven't been recalled for TUL.

In the last 4 weeks or so, JFK, LGA, BOS, ORD line maint and AFW "AMT candidate pool" postings have been on aacareers.com external board.
The company is starting to hire off the street, ever so slowly.
