TWU negotiations.........what?

You forgot credibility. The momentum you had with the anger of the first TA five months ago helped get those cards signed. If they see a year go by without any action, I wouldn't count on it being so easy to get the replacement cards signed.

Compared to how long the TWU/AA have left us under concessions, waiting a couple of months more to get this right and eventually get this done seems like a walk in the park!
You will not see an AMP vote until well after the next TA is either accepted or rejected.
And to be perfectly honest with you, should we get an acceptable deal, you will see some of the AMP enthusiasm diminish.

Amp is nothing more than an Internet website and has proven nothing other than a bunch of miss-guided individuals that really don't understand what a Union is all about.

Ken show us in the TWU contract where the National Officers are not tied to pay based on the membership pay?

Like Amp and the TWU constitutions, if you negotiate wages up or down then the pay changes for the Officers. The big difference is, the TWU has successfully negotiated pay rates for several groups they represent and several of the officers have stepped up in pay grade. It is obvious to me you did not deserve the last position you held with the TWU and you don't understand our Constitution!! Every Officer in the TWU is accountable and their is an avenue to have them removed.

I see where the TWU has successfully won representation at another Airline and will be the first unionized group.

You are the one one that is trying to proove Ken wrong,so why don't you show us were in the twu const that it ties their raises to ours. Show me and the rest of the people here when the people in the int has ever taken a paycut. I did'nt get a raise last year, but I believe her name is Marlene the international secretary got a 10% raise last year for doing who knows what. She or some other person posted here once or twice and when she was asked to defend her salary and raise she ran for the hills. I wonder if jim little himself will show up here and try and defend his pay raise. One thing that I do know about Ken, he represents the people and that is were his loyalty lies. With the twu they want your loyalty to the union first and then to the membership. If I remember correctly jim little said this in a deposition a few years back so I'm sure that anybody that has a copy of this could confirm this. Ken deserved the position he was in because he was voted in by the membership unlike jim little. As for the const goes I'm sure Ken stepped down from his position to help the membership achieve true democracy under AMP and not the the socialistic or communistic version of democracy under the twu. The only way an officer is held accountable is if he pisses of somebody above him. A few years ago Mia wanted to get rid of their local pres and the int put him back in office against the memberships wishes. I hope you answer the questions in this forum better than you did in the debate forum. Since you claim to know the twu const so well it should not take you very long to find were it says that the internationals raises depend on the memberships raises and the formula for which this is figured.

populism is in vogue everywhere but to work it requires an educated electorate - like your negotiators. if you are up to the task go for it.

-------- eolesen, I see just the opposite! If the membership goes another year without a new contract, they'll be so pissed at the TWU, that they'll be falling all over themselves to resign a card!------- Think about it! Nine years without a raise! ------ How many people out there can make that claim today?

Jeez, the non-debater rears it's empty TWu head. Do you actually believe the blather you type Gomer Pile?

Sadistic satire is sure not lost on you cio, believe it.

So those "successfully negotiated pay rates", would that be up or down? Card Dealers or Bus Drivers? Because unlike you in your TWu fog of lies, we here at AA haven't anything but concessions in the past 20 years, save for the short lived AMFA contract in 2001, the contract the TWu waited for after NWA settled.

If the TWu Internationals' wages are based as you state on the members , then not one of the sellouts in the Internatiional should be in the six figures...especially a TWu secretary at 140k plus. Can you explain how this works? With the TWu's 8 years of "without further ratification" record setting concessions, I'm just not seeing the TWu bubba wanna-believer equation.

With your TWu degree, like Jimmy Little has, explain it for us.

I will second that motion brother.... ;) ;)

It seems like their are two guys on this board who try to defend the twu, HHS and CIO. I hope they are being compensated by the twu, if not, they are extremely lost. Does anyone know where these guys work? Tulsa? Are they mechanics? Why are they so stupid?

You guys make a lot more inroads when you actually debate the issues, and not the people posting about them....

How about eoleson with 2 different screen names? Wouldn't doubt it. With as much time as he spends on here, why not make up two more screen names and argue twice as much.

"As much time as I spend here" amounts to perhaps five minutes a day. Sometimes ten.

There are people here who use more than one screen name, but I'm not one (or two) of them.

Again...what does it take for the American mechs to take the step of faith?
My God, can it get any worse? Think about it guys!

Are they THAT scared of change?!
Unbelievable.

Since negotiations are secret with very little information available, we have to talk about something.

Maybe secretive as far as publishing the updates, but Bob Owens met with the members last week as well as another negotiating team member. They gave us excellent and informative updates and all that remains for M&E are three outstanding articles.
maybe you need to corner your local reps and demand a meeting.
