TWU negotiations.........what?

so will afw and tule give into 7day coverage

I believe 7 day coverage will be at TUL. I always think that once TUL goes 7 day coverage and DWH gets OSM's that AFW, at least the hangar part might not be needed. If it is true that lease payment for AFW is nealry 1/2 Million per month, I could see that going away once full 7 coverage is established at TUL. Not sure about TAESL though. I had heard not to long ago that survey for a fence between TAESL, Test Cell at AFW was already completed. But who knows. Trent and the Test Cell is an issue for keeping. FedEx has had interest in that Hangar since the sorting facility was built there.

If the TWU leadreship would stop being against a seniority based bid shift and bid days off system and embrace it I think 7 day coverage would be much easier for most to swallow. Right now the TWU takes the position that forcing a low seniority employee out of the shift/days off rotation is "unfair". They are apparently too stupid to grasp that seniority is the basis of strong and FAIR unionism. They would rather cut deals for their low seniority relatives, friends, and political sign makers than strengthen the union.

The Total Care Agreement between Rolls and American is up Nov. 2011, and since we didn't take the Trent for the 787, anything can happen. I heard RR is pissed, and rightfully so. Business is as usual in the TAESL building, they're throwing us some yardbird tomorrow for our 2000 engine produced. I would say that close to 60% of our engines are customer motors, we are definatly making some money for AA and Rolls, I don't see this place going away, but, anything can happen. No rumor on a survey for a fence, and our hanger is full. I Don't think that mgmt. would want to try 7 day coverage in TAESL, they are getting alot of bang for their buck, and a disruption will piss off Rolls, and our customers. Oh, yea, Wikki Leaks is reporting we agreed on a TA!!!
We are getting everything back, but, money, sick time, holiday's, shift differential, double time, ect, ect.

I feel so informed right now after every session that I just can't believe it is really the TWU. I have never been so informed after every session in such a way. Did someone TABLE the idea of informing of us during one of the E-Board or Membership meetings?

What's the old saying about spots? Really informer, did you expect any change.

Although a different Title (FSC), I anxiously await the spin. But then again, you guys
have something to spin. We have been sent to a corner and told to stand there
until the almighty NMB say's we can come out.

The session isnt done till tomorrow.

I guess it depends on what your definition of "session" is.

If you are meeting continually for 24 hours, then that is a "session".

If you have five two hour "sessions" then......the members were not updated
after each "session" as promised.

Yeah, well, let Rolls be pissed. And while you're at it, ask them how happy Qantas are with choosing the Trent 900 for the A380... By sheer dumb luck, AA may have made the right call on the 787. I know that there's not a lot in common between the 900 and 1000 other than the core, but both have had uncontained failures in the past four months, and Rolls has not done the best job of staying in front of the problems.

QF has already started the legal process of getting Rolls head on the proverbial platter. With new thrust limits issued by RR last week, QF can put a whopping 80 passengers on an A380 from LAX to SYD, instead of 400+.

The commercial implications of that are huge, and there's no question the engine isn't meeting its guarantees of 2000 cycles on the wing. Assuming QF prevails in court, Rolls as we know it today may not survive.

I'm not speaking for Bob Owens, but I would say that the "session" is the entire 4 days. I have no doubt at all that Bob will be the first to post the events and results of this negotiating "Session."

We are over the 2 1/2 year contract expiration point. What's a day or to more to find out what occured during this round of negotiations?

Both parties in negotiations are terrified of how the membership would react if we really knew what was being discussed. There will never be transparency as long as the TWU is our misrepresentative.

True as that may be, at least wait until we hear it officially.
Keep in mind, there was an overwhelming NO vote on the TA.....Both parties know it.....There better be an overwhelming change in company's position in return.

If not, the members need to show their content or discontent!

As much as I appreciate Bob's candor, we have to remember he and Chuckie were removed from office by Little Jimmy because they chose to be loyal to the membership and not the International.

May I point out that they still have their jobs at their local this time around.

Well, Bob Owens, We're Waiting........

I think no matter what the t/a comes out to. Bob will just always have the stance it's not good enough as he has dug is heel into far now. Ihope that not the case but we should know by later today (because we are the informed membership now NOT!!!!!!)

Why is anyone expecting a TA from this session? I personally don't expect anything to come from this. Why should I?
What has happened in the 2.5 years of negotiations? Nothing.

I guess is's a good sign they're taking all four days? It might be a little different this time, with Owens and Pike, and the threat of losing the company union.
