TWU negotiations.........what?

Bohica! Now what the heck does "Bohica" mean?
"Bend Over Here It Comes Again" a more in depth definition is available on Wikipedia. In the airline industry it came into common use at EAL where Bormans bungles put the company in a position where they kept coming back for more and more concessions.

We see how well the strategy of giving concessions to save jobs worked over there.

Isn't it amazing that when we speak of how airlines started getting screwed since deregulation, what comes to mind foremost is the losS of jobs. When airlines management saw they had a friend in the White House, they took the ball and ran with it when Reagan fired the controllers.
And they haven't stopped running with it. But the executive elite have not been affected at all.
As a matter of fact they have been rewarded tenfold for cutting the tens and tens of thousands of jobs.
I wonder how many executives hurt themselves patting themselves on their own backs.

Their rewards are justified and if the rest of us don't like it, we can quit.

Enough is enough!

GO LUFTHANSA PILOTS!

TWU wouldn't be in this mess if they would have listen to the oldtimers from TWA! It's called a snap back but what the hay. I,m LOL at the TWU!!! and the AFL CIO. I think thier LOL at me also! Life is great!!!!!!

The TWU would not be in this mess if they had a pair of nads and never crawled into bed with management to begin with.

Reagan fired the controllers.

Did a pilot group not back out of their position to walk and not support the Controllers?

The same could be said that we wouldn't be in this mess if MCI didn't vote 75% for the concessions.
<_< ----- We could also say that if TUL had voted differently, maybe things would have been different! But ultimately the consequences of 2003 rests with the TWU for bringing back a Company ultimatum without so much as a "snapback!"

LOL Let me get this right, there was about 1000 to 1400 here at MCI at the time of the vote and 12,500 + at the other places. And we here At MCI have that kind of power!!!!! Please shoot me now!!!!! If MCI has that kind of power, I'll call a vote to give me my ser.... back! Like I gave Ozark!!!!! Lets not go there...LOL We'll be gone soon and out of your hair. Of course when you go on strike I'll not cross!!!!! Not Not not!!!!! But it will be tempting.

Check out the work rules...

OK to do certain checks overseas....maintain 4-1 ratio of AMTs per plane....I think the company may give you the UPS wage for the UPS work rules....or the WN wage for the WN work rules.....

Maintain a minimum of 4.1.

Theres a lot more to their contract than the wage, up to two weeks extra vacation if they work a minimum number of hours (that would put them three weeks ahead of us at every step), the IOD time, the sick time, etc etc.

The fact is AA does do certain checks overseas, have been for a long time. I recall instructors from JFK going over to England to teach non-certified people a genfam class so they could work interior items. He figured something was wrong when one of them raised thier hand and asked '"What's an empannage? "

By the way what is the contractual ratio of mechanics per airplane at AA?

The company has made no indication at all about or even hinting at UPS or WN wages and work rules.
What will always be hung over our heads is the fact is that we still do overhaul in house.
And even the pension will be used in their defense against a decent contract.

If AA secretly desires UPS and WN wages and work rules, why has the company NOT offered that?

Simple answer, as long as they keep our wages at the bottom of the heap, this will subsidize the pension and keeping most work in house.

They want the work rule changes but NOT the wages.

And what checks are those, Bob? A checks? B checks? ETOPS checks? Are they being done by contractors or AA employees on international payroll?...
