But hey W, if we can hold out for a couple of years, my God, think how big our raise could actually grow to. Why settle for $29.00 when we could get $35 in 2018. Right???
Doesn't matter. You'll never believe anything they put out anyway.

The first I ever heard from or about the Ass was I would have the ability to vote...yep W, when the very first words spoken are a lie, as hard as it may seem, that does ding credibility and trust.

Mechanic & Related/Stores Committee Update, February 12, 2016:

The Mechanic & Related/Stores committee met with American Airlines the week of February 8th in Baltimore, Maryland.

As we continue to progress steadily toward a joint collective bargaining agreement, we remain firmly committed to one goal: negotiating the strongest deal for our members. We are working tirelessly to ensure that the best of both contracts are combined into one comprehensive agreement.

We tentatively agreed on the following articles: fitness for duty, uniforms and bulletin boards. We will continue to exchange proposals with the company on these matters.
We have exchanged proposals on articles for certain grievance procedures, and made our initial proposal regarding overall representation, which encompasses other grievance procedures and system board of adjustment. Both these articles are particularly complex, and because we are blending two existing, mature practices, it takes time. These articles are the foundation of our ability to enforce your rights under the agreement, so we are working through all articles with extreme diligence and care.We are scheduled to continue negotiations during the following weeks: February 29th in DFW, March 7th in DCA, March 21st in DFW and March 28th in DFW.We appreciate your continued patience and solidarity throughout this process, and will continue to provide updates after each session.
In solidarity,

Yea, and so?  Pretty much everyone should know by now, they've been at it 3 full weeks and have fitness, uniforms and bulletin boards. They're having a difficult time getting through grievances. We are screwed.

So the question is, whose doing the screwing? Is it the company or our idiot representatives?

It seems like there should be a fine line, not like the previous crew that left language too vague, but not like this crew that seems to be spending hours on each word and punctuation. The membership, and in particular, airline mechanics are underpaid by a whopping amount when compared to our peers, we need some movement with regards to the agreement to alleviate the continued industry pay/benefit disparity.

It seems to me there is no urgency from these people.

Anyway, I clanged my vote to out past a year. I don't see this getting done anytime soon, meanwhile a lot of us keep marching towards retirement.

Maybe if the user's of this Forum threaten to stop posting the moderator's will force the Association to come to an agreement........

Why we can't negotiate with the urgency that the company and the union take when AA want concessions? We have to push for results asap, now is the time. There was plenty of time to get ready. Why we was not ready with a full proposal instead of a wish list?

Delta giving out 21 percent in profit sharing. Will that be included in the delta plus 3 percent....
The beatings will commence until moral improves

No..you get Delta wages plus 3% on top of that. Which of course is the cheaper way to pay employees and I'm not sure we will even get that the way things are going.

Better yet, why don't they start negotiations with the big topics first, compensation, benefits and work rules? And leave the bulletin boards and uniforms for last?
