We would all would have the same amount being placed in the fund from the company depending on what amount is negotiated for each workgroup.
Well good luck with giving the American mechanics a choice between IAMPF company matching and a reasonable 401k match that they have now.

Each classification negotiates the contribution I know it's $2 an hour for a mechanic and I think and I'm not sure the multiplier is around $68 or $70., but I forgot.

NO HOW, NO WAY, NO THANKS. I WANT NO PART OF THE IAMNPF. 401K with a better match or better yet contribution from the most profitable airline out there!

Thats where it could get complicated. Does  the company contribute the same amount whether you make $15 or $29?
In the IAM US contract, yes. PT is half what FT puts in and gets out of it.

Not to mention they pay double for their medical.

American Fleet and other represented groups too if you would for once be kind enough to think of us.

Wow as if I have an option  in a closed shop.

I did not mean to hurt your feelings.

I get scolded by your brother 700 and he cries because I spoke for the entire TWU, now you are the official spokesman for Fleet and other non mechanic group

Why should I care? You gave us the Association without a vote and now you are an advocate of the IAMPF that we don't want anything to do with and you don't respect our wishes.

"Our" Association will put more energy into getting the IAMPF and ignore the better 401k matching. I knew this from the beginning

your dying socialist pension fund will only be good for those in the IAM who have the time necessary for the fund to earn anything, if it does not fail first, like many of these type funds that end up with the PBGC.

A little cash, some stuff restored that they took in 2003, and voila, your in it!
If that were to occur  you would see successful card drives. It would  likely be the end of the association with one or more groups going to another union. I hope they realize that and give us a choice

We shall see. Care to make a wager on a successful card drive if one were to happen?

You are correct, because of your attitude in the past which collided with mine, some months ago and I do not remember exactly when or the subject,
you invited me to block you. But on occasion I am graced with some of your writings in the reply windows.

You support the Association?

You are Pro-IAMPF?

The entire working class is moving toward a 401k based savings program and unionism wants to
hold onto defined pensions which are becoming a thing of the past. I have a frozen pension I want left alone.
Most employees here at American understand the 401k concept and use it to their advantage.
Now a group which favors a Defined Pension wants the rest of us to what become the saviors by contributing
our earned assets when we all know that we are to old to start or even re-start a defined plan.

Why should I join the IAMPF? that will take contributions from the company coffers in lieu of 401k matching.

If I am given my entire years at American as a component and a reasonable catch up contribution which
would allow for a modest retirement in the next 6 or 7 years, then I might consider such a plan.

However I believe it was 700 who scolded me and informed me that I cannot have free money.
That's ok, but the IAMPF cannot have my money freely either.

Blocking doesn't work unless you have your own personal will to avoid the poster. Trust me I know. I really really really wanted to avoid reading the dribble of WT.

We can bring up the issues we disagreed on or we can let it be spilt milk? Your choice. I actually said something to you on here one time that I regretted from your response to me. For that I apologize.

Let me clarify. I support the Association because I firmly believe that Unions should not fight Unions. BUT I 100% believe that we should have voted on it as an option before it was imposed on us. I did not want the NMB to have us vote because of the "No Union" option. No I don't trust my group maybe as much as I should? Could the TWU have filed with the NMB on the 50 plus 1 rule? Absolutely. Morally should they have is what runs through my mind. Even though Daddy Trumka stepped in and said play nice.

On the IAMPF I support "choice" Let US decide "individually" what WE want on this one. No I don't want to feel like it was shoved down my throat especially if I lose another retirement option to have it. And I don't want it sold to me as the best thing since sliced bread when clearly we know it does have issues that should be pointed out. Tell me any retirement option that's perfect and secure though? Seriously please tell me one?

Rogallo is correct.  For how many years now have we heard that American Mechanics will start a card drive and fire their current representation?  It's been well over 20 plus years.  This latest move by these two unions combining and becoming this association that was FORCED onto the membership without a vote was more than likely the final nail in the coffin for the AA mechanics, it will pretty much seal the deal for life.  I would indeed wish you guys all the luck to get rid of them but now you would have to collect, what, almost double the cards you had to collect before?  Rogallo will win the bet by a long shot.  Wanting it or not, you guya are stuck with this association for life...
