TWU-IAM Association thread

If you REALLY believe you're going to get it ALL back in one shot you're going to have an IV drip in your arm in hospice before you even get the JCBA.

You can call that defeatism, I call it reality.

Well anyway I'm sure Gary will give it a shot though.
Where did I say i would get it back in ONE shot? So according to you, we shouldn't expect anything. The reality YOU see is don't ask or expect anything and maybe they will throw you a few crumbs.

MetalMover,
Where was the, "Where did I say I would get it back in ONE shot," mentality back in 2010? You would have gotten a lot of good things back and had been working on the next agreement by 2014? Instead we took no increases and got nothing back all the way up to BK. The past is the past, now keep thinking that way when the saber rattlers at 591 say we should be getting everything back, full retro, plus a massive raise to UPS wages with no loss in scope.

So 591 is going to control the entire contract? Wow! I hope so.

What exactly do they mean? Base pay? 7% of what? The total "ALL-IN" amount or base pay?  What exactly is this amount?
That is a rel good question maybe the Pro Association group can assure us of that answer?

A lot of mechanics took their position in this, based on 7% onto their pay.  paraphrasing Doug Parker, whatever tyhe highest Delta mechanic makes + 7%.

It is clear to me that the International has sent out their Tweets to all of the Stooges informing them to spread the "Do Not Expect Any Significant Gains" mantra to the membership!
Not just on these forums, our local leadership is spewing the same lines.

Now don't spread rumors...Overpseed and WeAAsles are expecting a killer contract that will turn us TWU haters in TWU lovers.

Decided to waste some time and talked to a union guy. They haven't heard thing one from the association.

For the record if the association gets us a killer contract, meaning great pay 7% above delta and other contract items sick, Vc, etc etc

I WILL be an association supporter. The past 12 years have been tough times for airline employees and unions, but NOW is the time to deliver. We have no other choice but to hope the association works in our favor. AMFA obviously not working too hard to organize us, the IBT and TWU have some sort of deal going. We are out of options we need for this to work.

Don't care in the slightest who you love or hate. Never have. I personally think you're a walking group of Divas personally. (Out of certain cities I know well unfortunately)

Agreed wholeheartedly (gasp) The association needs to prove their worth to me too. Actions speak far louder than words of rah rah. But on the record I'm looking for the same things you just quoted plus a few more etc etc's.

I was referring to the rumors about leadership saying not to expect much gains in new contract. I think the association will take a couple months to get itself organized, after they shutdown 591 (just a guess)

Well as I understand it they have 30 days to start negotiating now. Both Unions signed separate agreements with the company to do so. I'm sure the Company has already gotten on the phone with both groups saying "Ok let's go"

The company already has a nice little offer for us and it's probably pretty good for some but the association will bargain any real gains away to keep the most Dues flowing!
We never get to see what is offered and bargained away because the international will force all involved to sign letters of confidentiality..

I cannot wait to see the looks on the faces of those in Tulsa who are chomping at the bit for this huge raise when they actually lose pay!
