TWU-IAM Association thread

The nanny state is alive and well in Tulsa. A vast majority of the amt's, machinists & building maintenance people
in Tulsa never had to deal with layoffs (me included). Even after the pay cuts a guy can still make a living here, and
of course the TWU steered us through bankruptcy with our pension intact (frozen but intact)!! Don't believe me
just ask any TWU official.
The sheeple believe the TWU lies because they sub consciously want to believe that the TWU, they have become
programmed to believe that the TWU will always take care of them, just like a welfare mom and the federal gov.
You sir have been DE - certified. "No soup for you"

It really is sad that you poor folks have so many morons amongst your ranks. Kinda sounds like the fools we are starting to get in the F/A ranks. So many years of crappy representation and the minority keeps getting screwed and their voices shut out. I for one feel bad for you guys/gals.
Thanks, but you are probably referring to us maintenance folk..Because WeAAsles and his fleet service group are acting as if they hit the lottery. No AMFA as if it matters to him...He's hoping for a windfall from the association.
He must be giggling in his break room mocking the mechanics who dislike the TWU because for him, the TWU is the cat's meow.
I wonder if he went to visit his mechanic buddies in their break room and rubbed their noses in this debacle.....

No not really. Just mocking all the same crows on these pages who infest every thread they can on this website.

You mentioned the pilots the other day? Well they have the "self discipline, control" to discuss their issues in ONE single thread.

You see they behave like adults so deserve the respect to be treated as such. You guys on the other hand. I'm just giving back what you ask for.

Speaking of the pilots, I guess it's ok for them to agree to go with the larger union as did the FA's....But not ok for us? Is that how you feel? Why didn't Trumka suggest they SHARE the PILOTS or SHARE the FA's? Why just two loser unions, the TWU and IAM?
You seem to be just happy without a vote or a say in who represents you....Going with the flow is also being sheepish.
So what YOU do on this board is ADULT like? Don't cast stones when you live in a glass house.

Sorry. The tactic doesn't work on me. But if I may make a suggestion.

"2015 Maintenance Discussions"

And you won't read a peep out of me there.

I don't take suggestions from sheep...But thanks.
As if that would stop you from preaching there as well.

Then you don't have a sheep following you around and commenting. You have an albatross. Fun times ahead.

Of course fun times ahead...you're fleet service and the TWU is going to get you a killer contract....Er, I mean the association. But hey if they want to throw me a few bucks so I can make even more than an MBA, why not...

Well at least you're now smart enough to realize that you do make more than the "median" person with a Masters Degree does currently in the US.

Glad I was able to teach you that.

Oh and you can thank the TWU there if you'd like. I'm sure they'd love to hear from you.

I guess this is what I don't understand.  Given the AMFA card drive fell short, what is really the next best option for you, and, given a representative election, what would be the most likely outcome?  It seems to me the answer to both would be sole representation by the TWU (after several more months delay), and based on what I've heard from you guys about the TWU, I don't see how you would be any less unhappy with that outcome, given you still would not have the AMFA.

So your assumptions if I understand them are if you don't get screwed by the Association then you will be screwed by a TWU with an expanded member base come negotiations time.  What are you going to do?  When is the next opportunity to vote on having the AMFA represent you, how would you ensure it wins at the ballot, and are you willing to wait however long that takes just to have your JCBA negotiated by them?

Not being sarcastic, I'm just trying to understand the issue.

Do they keep aircraft in the air at 30k feet?

The issue is mechanics have fared poorly under the TWU....For me and many other mechanics to all of a suddenly take a liking the to the TWU, they would have to do a 180 in how they conduct themselves and how they treat mechanics. We do not like them. The IAM is no great shakes either. They are not the same IAM of 1966 when every IAM represented airline went on strike.....changing for the better the airline worker. They too are now only concerned with union dues...I am not interested in being represented by not one but two loser unions.
There are people here who think the company is just going to throw money at us without getting anything in return....There will be some screwing in one way or another.

Hey SWAMT,

Told you so!

How does that crow taste?

Calling me a liar and saying the NMB won't have anything to do with this.

I'm ready for your apology!
So how did you know there wouldn't be a vote and the twu international didn't? That means they wasted there time coming to Tulsa telling us there would be a vote.
