thats the best you can do over 30 years!Overspeed said:Number 1 - Preserved the defined benefit pension plan longer than any other union in the airline industry - Fact you have more benefit coming to you than you would have had AA filed BK in 2003 and frozen or terminated the plan like DL, US, or UA
Number 2 - Introduced the first FAA license protection program and ASAP program in the industry - Fact ask the many hundreds people who submitted and still have jobs and their licenses
#1 is not an accomplishment. #2 sounds like a typical twu slogan, Vote YES to save jobs.Overspeed said:Number 1 - Preserved the defined benefit pension plan longer than any other union in the airline industry - Fact you have more benefit coming to you than you would have had AA filed BK in 2003 and frozen or terminated the plan like DL, US, or UA

I don't believe US participates in the ASAP program.Overspeed said:Number 1 - Preserved the defined benefit pension plan longer than any other union in the airline industry - Fact you have more benefit coming to you than you would have had AA filed BK in 2003 and frozen or terminated the plan like DL, US, or UA

Wrong there little buddy. He said to start with #1 and list them all. Comprehension, enough said...Overspeed said:Chuck you said one, now I answered that and you want more. In fact I gave you two. Chuck there is lots more. The TWU has done a much better job during the last thirty years. More good paying jobs have been outsourced at other airlines than AA. I know you hate the fact that the TWU worked hard to prevent overhaul jobs from going to MROs which hurt your plans to enrich line mechanics but its what happened. I suppose you would have been much happier seeing TUL and TAESL finally go as long as you get UPS wages.
Rogallo, yes the defined benefit pension plan was and continues to be contractual however future accruals are frozen. The ASAP program is an MOU and was added in to the current CBA. Read your contract brother. Lot's of things Chuck bashes are outright lies and he counts on the premise that most don't read the CBA and call him on his BS. While the CBA is not perfect, he is often misleading or lacking in understanding of the real way the language is written. But you guys love him.
1AA,
Really? Okay, you practically everyone agrees the ASAP program and doing away with days off without pay for punishment is a good thing. I guess you are perfect and never make a mistake.
Regarding GEO pay...When it was in our first T/A, it wasn't just shot down by TULE, but MIA and ORD as well. They claimed they were not getting as much as NY and CA were to get. I guess they don't know how GEO pay is supposed to work.WeAAsles said:Chuck are you going to waste more precious time on here spouting off the same crap year after year or are you going to start advocating for what you really want now and have a chance at getting? GEO pay.
Is complaining about your lot in life the kind of leader you were or would be again in the future?
Stop wasting time. Get phone numbers and start to convince the right people that they need to support your initiative. Complaining about everything is just a waste of time and life.
I agreed with oldguy that the 2010 contract is not worth talking about, but out of touch, in 2010 you wanted the 2001 contract plus, while the other legacy shed OH (thousands of jobs) pensions, retired medical and so on. My way we would have $40k etc etc, I'm boring myself too. Your way NOTHING. You And the other big thinkers just see your own view instead of big picture.1AA said:Dude you are out of touch with the issues that have faced us in the past and what waits for us in the future.
David Seymour even said that he would give OH mechs a chance to work as a line mech before making the oh guys test. USAirs Maint program won awards as AA's Maint program was fined, and sense we have USAIR executives its an easy bet that we will do it USAir way. Everybody knows LAX, ord, and NY stations are short handed, so it might be a good idea for the Tulsa guys to vote in a line friendly contract, because it's expensive up north.Overspeed said:The truth is if the New AA follows the LUS MX plan then less and less LC work will be done in TUL. LUS doesn't do block C and B like LAA. They do phase checks which combine B and LC in to a bunch of smaller overnight work packs done in over the year. TUL AMTs may find themselves side by side with Line AMTs in the not so distant future. A new contract should take that new future in to account.
