TWU ATD post IAM Alliance

I'm  just saying, if we vote NO and both "UNIONS" have to go back to the drawing board there is a good chance this can be drug out until somewhere around August where the NMB decision an AMFA expires and we can have "OUR" deserved election. I'm sure Usair's AMTs are fed up with the IAM and should be well schooled on the crap the TWU has been doing for us for years the possibility of AMFA winning a vote is tremendous... Let's get the ball rolling... SIGN THEM CARDS AGAIN

Cant be too fed up, they just got reelected in August and AMFA had 8 write in votes, lol.

Saw it in one of your other posts.
Still not impressed.
Announced and posted... ROTFLMAO
If there is any possible way the iam/twu can jam this down the members throat without further ratification, it will happen.

If the IAM/TWU attempt to bring this to a vote prior to the ibt-pullout anniversary, you can still file with AMFA as an intervenor.  The election bans on American & USAirways will not apply in a merger situation. You don't have to wait til August if the IAM/TWU file after STS is determined.

You should be collecting cards now on both carriers if you wish to change representation.

Yes. Hope they all understand this. Get informed people, get informed...

The International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM) has called on various state congressional delegations to press US Airways to settle its contract dispute with IAM members at the carrier.

The IAM has been in negotiations for the mechanic and related, maintenance training specialist, fleet service and stockroom employees for almost three years. During that time, US Airways has spent the majority of its time and resources with its merger with American Airlines and negotiating terms with American's unions to garner their support for the merger.

"All my constituents want is what is fair, which is an equitable contract and salaries on par with their new co-workers," said Representative Yvette Clarke D-NY. "I urge you to bring a swift conclusion to these negotiations and to resolve this situation in a fair and equitable manner."

"IAM members have been instrumental in building US Airways into the dynamic company it is today," said Representatives Brady, Doyle, Schwartz, Cartwright and Fattah from Pennsylvania. "They seek only to have an equitable contract as you move forward."

I hope the politicians got it wrong and that the IAM is not asking for a contract that will treat USAIR workers like our contract treats us. What exactly is the IAM asking for anyway? Or is it a secret that the company knows and the workers don't. What are they looking for as far as a wage in light of the fact the guys at UAL just rejected $40/hr.

Not that you asked me. But my opinion is as long as we remaing divided into different unions, keep a belief that we can effect legislation, which is proven false and ignorant, then what difference do you or anyone else expect? What is the defintion of continuing the same action or strategy, expecting a different result?

Bob,

If I remember correctly during the raid the IAM told the membership what they are asking for:

I believe if I remember right this is what it is:

They are seeking a two years CBA as a bridge agreement before JCBA talks would start.

It was like $37 or $38 an hour.
Another week of vacation
Full pay for sick time regardless of what your bank accumulation balance is.
An increase from $1.40 per hour to $2 per hour which would raise the pension multiplier from $86 to $104.
More scope protection, language changes to fix and correct some items in the CBA.
and other increases, I will see what I can find out about the rest.

WOW 700UW does not know what the ALL powerful IAM is even asking for.

Yet he seems to know everything else about the airline industry and much more HOW can that be?

Usually he is saying read this or get your facts why doen't he know?

Now he is going to find out, maybe he will use his Google account.
