TWU accomplishments.........

IIRC they only get the automatic raise once, nothing after that. Guess they wanted to sell it as a shorter term than it actually was so they added the last 3% in if it went past 6 months, well its gone more than a year.

Bob-
They got 3% last July and are going to get another 3% this July (if no TA to bring back for vote), but that's it. Better than a one time 3%, but still not enough to make the company want to negotiate.

The 3% raises were agreed to in the transition agreement in 2008, especially the IAM knew the company wouldnt settled quickly, and it called for negotiations to start six months before the 60 days section 6 notice.

That is great, but when do you think advancing my career instead of destroying will become important?

Again, How does this help me?

I don't consider this a TWU accomplishment. If the Teamsters, AMFA, APA, or any other union wanted to they can have scholarships also.

You call what the TWU gives - a scholarship? Really? Twelve hundred bucks per year - sounds more like a teaser.

It is all he can come up with for now. Nothing else left because there is nothing else.

Take note of the date folks. CIO has to go back over 2 years to find an article written by the TWU... Also take note of the chart listing headcount from 2002-2010. SWA had the largest headcount increase, then came CAL. ALL the rest of the airlines listed has had massive headcount reductions, which is exactly what we have been saying the whole time. Now let's go from 2002 to present 2013 and SWA has barely not doubled since 2002 in head count. Now where do you think the rest of the airlines sit when comparing 2002-2013 (present) head count numbers. And let's not forget SWA is still hiring off the street thru and maybe even beyond July of 2013. Once again, please keep posting...

AMFA does do it, as previously stated already. I'm pretty sure the teamsters might do it also, but not positive. So this is no TWU accomplishment above any of the other unions.

I guess you could say that these scholarships helps them avoid becoming TWU members.

Bob, Since you are an elected Officer of the TWU, I would like to see you be a positive role model.

Can you reverse you inherited hatred for the International and anti-rhetoric towards the majority on these boards and give us some POSITIVE comments in the future towards the TWU and tell us some POSITIVE changes you are planning to accomplish in Local 591 to help the membership?

CIO
