I'm hoping that language is adopted in the JCBA. However for this situation, I believe they will utilize the current twu language.ATD said:Why not adapt the IAM rif language for this shutdown.
Just curious, has there been any mass layoffs under the IAM rif language at USAir and how did the company keep operations from being affected at a major line station with senior people transferring in mass?ATD said:Why not adapt the IAM rif language for this shutdown.
So USair has never had a time where 500 taesl people would bump into DFW and wipe out over half of the workforce?700UW said:Back in the day the closed GSO, and INT hangars, and after the chapter 11 part two they closed the back shops, the system worked ok and even had a process to help make sure when you reached you bumping destination you didn't have bump or abolishment waiting for you at the new bid area, they tried to process it fast to prevent that.
AA won't have that either, if the rumors from this board are correct, there will be about 120 slots CREATED at DWH, (and there are goofs here calling AA the "enemy") but the the rest of the OPEN slots are SFO LAX JFK LGA, I think ORD is full. When SJU took a big layoff recently those guys went to MCO and MIA. I think those stations are full too.texasreb said:So USair has never had a time where 500 taesl people would bump into DFW and wipe out over half of the workforce?

I looked at their language and they bump by seniority, no junior pool stuff. But their seniority list includes all mechanics, auto and facility guys to. So if I had that two years ago I could have been changing light bulbs in the terminal back at DFW because I am senior to a bunch of facility guys. I mentioned that to the title 2 rep here, and the guy went ballistic on me about how AMT's will never bump my guys. I like to go by seniority, but we should be allowed to bump all mechanics. The seniority list being spilt is BS in my view and is a special deal for title 2bigjets said:What is their RIF language?

Title 2 votes on our agreement but yet they are insulated from the havoc the results or their votes cause. Maybe we should be able to bump them?ASSociation Clown said:I looked at their language and they bump by seniority, no junior pool stuff. Seriously ! Title ll, They are largely the reason. Lay the blame where it belongs. Title l has never been able to get their $$hit together, They want someone to blame for their groups shortcomings. You guys are so divided its to easy to play you! If its not Title ll its Fleet service. The last time i checked there were about 1500 title ll compared to 9000 title l. But less than 50% even bother to vote. Who's it going to be next the stock clerks?Traymark said:Ass clown,
That very issue of Title II is still a sticking point in the talks between the 2 unions.
IAM wants it the way you do and obviously, the TWU will try to keep TitleII as it is.
The outcome of that one will affect a good number of mechanics.
My thoughts on it are, if Title II goes away and they do it the IAM way, will Title II continue to support the TWU and not sign any cards to remove them in the future?
TWU has enjoyed almost unanimous support fromTitle II, it's largely the reason they are still on the property.
