It seems none of the AWA pilots have paid any dues to USAPA.......
Just curious. Since USAPA was voted in 17 April and your post was on 01 May, how, exactly, would you even know if anyone paid dues yet? I would imagine, knowing the incompetency of Tempe, the act of transferring dues from dues check-off would take a couple of days, if not years. Also, if a pilot elects maintenance fees only, would not one need a couple of months to determine what those fees would be in order to send an invoice?
... and Bradford is slightly upset about it.
Based on what Bradford has said, I think he would probably understand the issues and "upset" would seem unlikely.
Apparently some unions which are voted on to a property do not assess members until a contract is delivered and nothing spells out legally when a new union can demand dues collection under the law.
What contract and when? Perhaps your understanding of "contractual law" is a little scanty. In return for dues or maintenance fees, among other things, your vote is counted, you get to receive protections and you get to provide input and vote on contracts. If you do not pay dues and things don't go your way, good luck with that DFR lawsuit. (I would advise your attorney to collect his fees up front, before he files anything).
Also, you may wish to read up on law concerning right to work laws. You may wish to be sure to sign for every certified letter to protect your job.
Wow, what a hit in dues collections for USAPA having 38% of the pilot group not paying a dime for a couple of years.
As has been mentioned before, both MECs worked just "fine" according to you and your friends with only 25% of the dues. Now you say the new MEC will have problems with "only" 62% of the dues, about 2.5 times what both MECs had before?
Are you just angry you lost your cushy ALPA "job"? Get involved. Roll up your sleeves and work to help, if not your fellow pilots, at least yourself.
