Forgive me old man, but its been a while and I need to warm up. I was distracted as to what I was going to do with my 2% increase in pay.

Anyway,

Hey AAA, how is USAPA handling this:
It's a non event. As for your pay? Enjoy it while you can.

Dear Capt. Bradford....

Enjoy your 2%. It's been a lousy couple of years for us easties, but before 2003 remember that our compensation made yours look like the deep-fry cook at McDonalds. And we enjoyed decades of that level while you guys couldn't get far enough out of the gutter to even see over the curb. Let us know when that 2% brings you on par with our career earnings....probably sometime in 2075?

As for Ron DeMarco's observations, I agree that the Empire merger was unfairly handled at the hands of a vindictive ALPA and PAI MEC. I thought so at the time (being an original Piedmonster,) but in typical ALPA fashion, no one asked me what I thought.

I have no qualms about revisiting the Empire and Shuttle mergers with the focus of DOH as mandated by the USAPA C&B-L. But let us be sure to compare apples to apples. When Capt. DeMarco was hired at Empire in 1978, what type of certificate did the company hold and what type of aircraft were they flying? If my memory serves, Empire started with Navajos then graduated to Metroliners some time afterward and these aircraft were operated under FAR 135. Sorry, but a Part 135 hire-date just does not hold any water when being merged with a carrier that started in 1947 as a Part 121 operation. When Empire acquired F28 aircraft in the early to mid-1980's, they then had to operate under FAR 121. Use as a DOH the time when a particular Empire pilot started flying under Part 121, and you have my full support for a DOH integration. Don't claim your Navajo time is equivalent to B727 time, and we have a deal.

But, then again, no one with any authority in these matters is going to ask my opinion anyway.

Hey JB that sent chills down my spine how about you? I am getting real scared now that usappy thinks we will pay them dues. I guess they didn't get it the first time we told them

Hey AAA73 can you say, "Ladies and gentleman welcome aboard UNITED?" Usappy is gonna be the shortest lived cult in aviation history   Parker played this one to the bone...

JB what up??

Bradford and the angry f/o's club bit off more than they can chew. I got a call yesterday from a pilot who's arbitration is now canceled because usappy faild to show and he is now filing suit against the cult and their atty Seeham. This is gonna be fun to watch as this person has been waiting for a year and now he has no idea when he will get back. One word INCOMPETENCE!!! Will the law suits ever stop   Buyers remorse I bet...
Just a few questions. After certification on the 18th, did said pilot inform the grievance committee chairperson of the impending arbitration? Did ALPA west forward the files in time for the meeting? Did the pilot provide any assistance in his arbitration to the new chairperson? My bet is no. If this was so important why didn't he/she?

No incompetence. To my knowledge we still haven't received any help from the former ALPA west reps to insure a seamless changeover. Methinks if there is a lawsuit, I would look at the former reps and ALPA first. I bet we will.

Sorry for you, no buyers remorse here. But have fun with it and lets see where it takes us.

We will enjoy the raise and thank you for that by way!! Did you say something about 2003?? Now was that prior to bankruptcy 1 or 2?? There were two in the span of 24 months so I am trying to figure out which one you are talking about.

DOH?? You will never ever see it as UAL will crush the very idea. Remember the tactic of being bigger and forcing your will upon the smaller ones?? Well now you will be the smaller one and we at AWA don't even have to get involved as they out number you without us. I''m guessing the the NIC award will be the starting point for discussions. Oh did I tell you that our merger atty is also the merger atty for UAL?? May I suggest Dan Katz as merger counsel for you usappians???

Buyers remorse setting in...

luvthe9: thanks for the link.

I took the time to read the constitution and bylaws and the rest of the rhetoric. Got stuck on section 8D. Seniority based on DOH and the perpetuation thereof. Does the "union" honestly think that west pilots will buy into that? Should we merge with UA, do they think UA will buy into it? Good luck with this experiment. This "union" is doomed to failure. Will be fun to watch.

Well not the pilots job to inform you of a court date it usappy job to be aware!! CK the law pal it's clear. All files were fwd'd as ALPA did not want to accept responsibility for the failure to appear.

Lets see where it takes us?? I would say Elk Grove Ill and back in the waiting arms of ALPA!! Ohhh i can't wait

You guys think UA is going to ride in and save the day for you, don't you? Think they may be more interested in what is in it for them?
I don't think we will merger anyway. Been there twice before.

Sorry for you and your opinion. The files were not forwarded. In fact I haven't heard we have them now, except there are over 500 total inherited grievances. Keep trying to pin it on us for your failure as a rep. Maybe we can eventually clean up ALPA's mess. Pal?? Now that is funny!!  BTW. The person is responsible to participate in his case. No matter. Too bad for him/her if he didn't.

And how is that different than the AAA guys being interested in what is in it for them? I'll take my chances with the UA pilot group. I'm willing to bet they won't stamp their feet and cry when an arbitrator makes a decision. We all know these merger decisions will ultimately fall in the hands of arbitrators. When those decisions are made it is up to us to be mature enough to accept that as the ultimate decision and move on.

We don't need to be saved! What you folks never ever understood in all your emotional rants was basic law. No judge will ever throw the award out so you pin all your hopes on Parker and that he will give you DOH in a new substandard contract. The first question will be "can you ensure us that the west will not file massive law suits against LCC???? Answer Sir we can not. Then I'm sorry Mr. Bradford, this will not work.

NOW WHAT???????? That's the problem with emotion it lacks intellect...

Actually I wouldn't mind saying that. As long as they pay me. But then the merger hasn't happened yet. I still stand by my prediction that nothing will happen until one of us ends up in BK again. I also think it will be a prepackaged one with UAL leading the way. So time will tell.

It is no surprise that Parker would try something. His track record speaks for itself. Besides, if I don't like what is happening I can always retire. Or better yet, if there is a change of control, I can begin collecting from the PBGC as a supplement to my income. So bring it on.

You must not be one of the crybabies who think changing the call sign is "unsafe". Good for you.

I've posted long ago that I don't care about a call sign. Just pay me on time and I'm happy. Don't pay me? I figure I can call us anything I want. But "Crybabies"? We're not the ones still saying "Welcome to USAirways, operated by America West". If it makes you feel better, good for you back at 'ya.
