Massi Pay

You would thank Gless and Little!

Before you know it, you'll be thanking Delle!

Massi is retired, as long as he pays Union dues he is entitled to the full benifits. If the TWU was to reject any part of the claim, than Massi would be able to file a discrimination suit based on age.

Why should any member have the right not to collect the appropriate amount as per the TWU constitution or by-laws?

I believe under amfa an associate member has certain rights and look at the leader of amfa he has not worked in the aviation profession since 1965. So are you going to deny him the 120,000 thousand a year he will receive after retirement or removed as the dictator?

Deception is the game?

And you don't think Gless and Little and the rest of em should make any sacrifices like they told us we MUST take?

Point being, we are better off out of bankruptcy and you know it. We had more than one person look at AA's records and stance, they were statured to enter into bankruptcy. Had they done so MCIE and AFW would have been history, that's what, say about 3500 members? And these 3500 should have gone willingly according to AMFA. I do not buy that rubbish. Look at UAL, thank you AMFA. Do not lay blame with the IAM on that issue, you know as I that it was the AMFA supporters and organizers that threw the vote to allow UAL to enter into BK, another bit of incredible history to add to AMFA's legacy. And they call it a craft and class? I do not see to much of either in their representation they currently hold.

I thank Gless and Little for having the nerve to ask for the concessions. They acted as they should.
Point being????????????? This is nothing more than your assumption much less a point. If you ever get tired and see that the AMFA bashing doesn't help your cause, you might try promoting the twu. You still don't get it. The membership has lost all faith and trust in the twu. It will register soon.
I don't see any airlines knocking down the twu's door for representation.
When AMFA comes on the property we'll be able to recall any union reps that aren't doing their job. Until then you have to live with the gentleman in question.
Democracy and Accountability shall prevail.............
Here's to the twu...
Will strike if provoked..........
Cheers....

CIO;

I see that you brought up Delles pay. How much does your President make? From what I saw he gets over $140,000 from the Local, but, lets not forget that the company continues to pay him his regular 40 hour week, and since that comes from the company it is not reported on the LM-2. Correct me if I'm wrong, but that means that the President of Local 514 makes over $200,000/year. Isnt that about the same as President Bush makes? Its over $80,000 more than Delle makes and $140,000 more than his members make.

On the issue with Massi I agree that he was entitled to make whatever his predecessor made, 10% over the highest paid plus $850 a month. The fact that he was a cleaner is irrelevant, he is the President, duly (or is it dooly?) elected as VP by the members and put in place by the fact that the International removed Chuck for not allowing them to force him to act like Charlie McCarthy.

However the membership does have the right to motion to alter salaries. As I pointed out to the board when the issue came up, if they were going to cut the Presidents pay out of financial neccesity then all the salaries should be cut. However they were no more amienable to that now than they were when Jimmy Gorman and I brought cutting the salaries up back in 2000.

Massi has his good points. He is knowledgable and has a lot of experience. He also has his bad points, he is unscrupulous and will knife you in the back without a second thought and tell you that he has done you a favor, if its in his interests. He can be a good ally but not someone who you could count on through thick and thin.

Massi has his good points. He is knowledgable and has a lot of experience. Edited out this and other statements with apology to Nick.

For instance, Pete Corabi told me that Nick Massi said that the lawyer said that the International would pull their charter if the Local pursued a lawsuit against the International for removing their officers. A member made the motion. The Lawyer claimed that he said no such thing.

Nick got his full pay. Sure he should have gotten it in the first place but through the poor judgement of the E-board it came at a price to the members who were denied their choice of representation and the lost jobs in stations that should be staffed.
