While several are bitter about not having DOH for fleet vs classification date, I feel that it's the best overall solution. I knew of many people who left their station in order to get FT positions. No matter how you look at it, anyone who went FT years before someone else has put in more time on the job. Before anyone starts throwing stones at me, I'm just about in the middle and don't gain or lose much either way.

Classification (occupational) seniority is the best way to do it; although, I didn't realize that FT was a different classification than PT. I would have thought it would be the same classification: fleet. By having different classifications, it seems the union is 'punishing' those who wouldn't leave their station to 'upgrade'. The blame belongs to the company for not providing FT opportunities, the members shouldn't be the ones adversely affected.

Has there ever been any kind of settlement regarding DOH vs Check In time for nonrev?

Settlement, for what? Apparently the language wasn't exactly what people thought it was. No problem, no settlement

Wrong the PMUS IAM ramp CBA has different language than what the FAs had and the arbitration hasn't been heard yet for this grievance.

Rich Johnson from the International is setting up all of 141's arbitration as he is overseeing the district right now.

Interesting take. I like that last sentence!

Can't speak for US, but at NW, FT/PT/Lead were all separate seniorities within the ramp itself. Your lead time could also correlate into stock clerk seniority...

I have heard several versions of how LUS handles seniority for employees that upgrade or transfer from one work group to another. I was told if a employee transfers from say stock clerk to mechanic that they keep accuring seniority in their previous work group so if they ever have to return they lose no time. Is this the way it works?

Yes I went from Utility to Stock Clerk and I kept acuring my utility time. That is considered an upgrade.

It's in the PMUS CBA, but that is under the mechanic and related CBA.

Ok  this is where things will get very complicated for AA guys. If we upgrade we stop accuring in the title group we left. If we ever return to that group our time is adjusted for losing a day for day. Another question if you upgrade do you carry your time with you or start over with a new seniority date. When we blend our new seniority list together many at AA will get screwed.Unless some kind of agreement is made on how to handle this. Many here at AA have upgraded myself included and have lost years of seniority from our previous title group.

Maybe with all the adjusted dates, Kasher, and Titles, it's easier to just do DOH and be done? Not endorsing it, just throwing it out there for discussion...

That seems the easiest way to go if we want a contract anytime soon.  However I can tell you that wont go over well either. This is going to get pretty ugly.  This one issue could stall our contract talks until the next big recession!

Oh it's gonna be a fustercluck. The only way is DOH, if you're a true unionist

At U.S. you have a hire date, classification date, date under the CBA .

That's for maintenance.
