USA320Pilot: Does it make you feel important to call people names while sitting in front of your PC? By the way, if United's loan guarantee applicatoin is so strong and the company so powerful, why after all of the deep cuts did the company lose more money than any other airline in the world in the first quarter?

USA320Pilot said: "As recently stated by Dow Jones Newswires, the reason David Bronner and Dave Siegel exited bankruptcy so early was their interest in US Airways acquiring United Airlines or many of its assets, which Bronner publicly commented on in four separate interviews, but that did not happen due to deteriorating fundamentals."

Whlinder asks: Could you post a link or something to substantiate this?

USA320Pilot answers: I already have and it's in another fairly recent topic.

Respectfully,

Does it make you feel important when you tell everyone you are wrong and you can't justify why or back it up with facts?

Does it make you feel important that you post wrong information all the time?

Does it make you feel important when you try to portray that you are a CCY insider when you are actually just a line pilot and nothing else?

USA320Pilot comments: 700UW, I believe your thought could come true and the company is preparing for another Eastern Airlines bankruptcy. However, if the deal is pre-packaged and the equity preserved, then the company has let it be known they will S.1113 the IAM contract, close the Pittsburgh overhaul facility, and ask the court to permit the entire fleet to have heavy maintenance conducted by contractors. In addition, the company could seek to eliminate the Utility position.

The job loss for the IAM will be very difficult in Pittsburgh and Charlotte because of the keen competition for jobs. In fact, it will be similar in scope to the United mechanics in Indianapolis.

As an former investor in United and airlines are a hobby of mine... I think I will try to explain United's loss to the dear pilot.
1) High Fuel Costs
2) Bad weather of parts of the country critical to ops
3) Ongoing restructuring including some debt and plane/equipment leases
4) Continued payment of backpay to IAM

United's operating loss was $211 for the first quater, and UA broke even in March. Unit costs with fuel are down 11%/ Without Fuel they are down 14%...

United is trying to get this right, the first time.

And as for your theory of UA selling assets to USAir... What would United sacrifice? The Pacific(Not Happening), The Atlantic(Not Happening), Chicago(Not happening), Denver (Not Happening), San Francisco and Los Angeles(Not Happening)? And even if they did, how could USAir afford such an acquisition with extra fleet types (777,747), personal and infrastructure integration?

US320

You are a ripe .......

SO you hold your breath until the LOA passes and then you harp back on the band wagon of UAL saving your hide. While I don't want to see US go out of business I do hope you seek a mental evaluation.

Perhaps you could write childrens books. You seem to like a fairy tale more than most kids I have met.

Good night Cinderalla the Pumpkin is here.

See, here's the thing.

Some of our former (then current) CEO's used to come thru all the time. One was a lovely man, the other, a blunt businessman. They'd briefly chat us up and go their merry way. Not ONCE, in twenty-odd years, did these gentlemen divulge ANY scoop to ANY frontline grunt, PILOTS INCLUDED.

It has to be that way, or the SEC and the stockholders would draw lots to see who could crucify the CEO first.

99% of the info floating around, including the media, is spin, hype or speculation - some more informed than others.

Those who have the inside track cannot disclose.

Those who disclose, don't have the inside track.

Simple, when you think about it.

THe problem with the US/UA relationship is it is composed of two entities who are both fighting for their survival. Just like marriage, bringing two needy entities together does not make either one better but instead brings both down. The best thing that can be said for UA and US is that the gov't blocked the merger proposal of several years ago. UA needs a partner that will help it survive and not prey on it as UA is now doing.

UAL is finding that the path out of bankruptcy is not as easy as they once figured. And yes, US mgmt. has to be looking for an exit strategy that doesn't include UA. I think UAL will be hard pressed to find investors who will be willing to support UAL's purchase of US and US is certainly in no position to buy anyone. If UA attempts to buy any part of US, it will only hasten the demise of both airlines.

Every other airline in the industry recognizes that consolidation has to occur but they will not participate in it until they have some basic stability. No other airline is willing to take on US in its present shape - at best it will be its PHL and CLT hubs and about 1/2 the fleet - which means even less than 1/2 of the employees.

The ATSB is clearly not wanting to make a decision on UAL in light of the refusal of the Canadian and Italian govt's to interfere in their airline industries - and their ailing airlines have much higher market share than either US or UA has individually or together. Even if UAL is granted an ATSB loan, it is likely to be full of many more restrictions than UAL would like given the very strong opposition to gov't intervention in the industry at all.

Sadly, US had better plan to make it own its own. If by chance someone decides to acquire parts of US and maybe some of its employees, it will be AA or NW - airlines whose outlook is far better than UA; even AA and NW recognizes how perilous the industry is and are more inclined to watch it all from the sidelines.

If USAir does go under and disintigrate into little pieces, if I ran another airline I'd be quickly looking up USA320PILOT and asking him to come to my company where I would hope he would be as loyal and care as much as to stir those he disagreed with into uttering foul, incomplete sentences without a subject and a verb - something that most individuals learn by 4th grade high school.
Didn’t realize we had an English major watching our spelling. But what you have to realize is this guy says the same thing over and over.
He has no original thought and it becomes redundant if that is who you want working for you then your company will wither and die for you will have no original thinkers.

As for you maybe you should try reading his two page posts instead of worrying about our spelling even my fingers are tired after checking in flights all day.
Oh that’s right they were in the news already!

Eastern never made it out of bankruptcy, so prepare for the end, and you could take a lesson in trade unionism from EAL's demise where they all stood strong and did not take Lorenzo's crap and the courts even removed him from EAL and banned him from ever running or owning an airline again. But hey, who are you to ever use the facts and the truth.

The company can ask for anything, but once again you care to ignore the laws and the bankruptcy code which must be adhered to before a judge will entertain a abrogation, and since CAL there has been no abrogation as they unions are free to strike and the company will fail. And the code has been posted by myself several time.

The company can also ask for Mesa to fly your planes too. You never give up though, amazing.

There is no equity in this company and Lakefied himself on Thursday was not sure the company would file and if they did he was unsure of getting DIP financing and would have to liquididate.

Come on you did not know? You say you are a CCY insider, you should know these things.

It is amazing how one person can brainwash themselves.
