IAM WINS!

I know exactly what you meant.
Good, 'cause we could use your help.

Let me ask you this. Do you believe 700's version of who will conduct the election? Or mine?
To be honest, I'm really offput by the whole idea of the alliance, and I'm more pissed that it's come to be, than I am concerned about who will conduct it...

That is where you should be directing your energy.

Thanks about to draft a message to send off. Will post here once I receive a request. Probably good if more people contact them regarding the misinformation and fear the unions are spreading.

Josh
NP Josh. To be on the fair side I don't think 700 is knowingly lying about this. I really do think the IAM is telling him this as they know he come on here to spread the word big time, and hopefully the scare tactics of the voting system they spread will get the membership to vote in the alliance (this is their thoughts not mine). He even provided some info where the IAM says the NMB will conduct the election (Q and A's from IAM), and I knew these were lies so I did the work myself. Plus, just the mere fact that they are forcing the alliance vote onto the membership is pathetic, the membership should have been able to have input and say on rather they wanted to vote on the combination of the 2 unions at hand here, instead of giving the membership a more broader choices of other unions to have represent them.
BTW; Everyone questioning you on why you are doing this or why you even care should be doing the same thing. Good luck Josh, and look forward to your results...

You doubters keep doubting.

The IAM and TWU are the ones who are going to be filing the paperwork that the NMB will use to hold an election.

Then the NMB will be involved, is Mr West even assigned to the case as the Investigator, oh wait, he cant be because no one filed for an election yet.
Don't start changing your tune now 700. I already see in this post that you are. From the very beginning you have said that the NMB will conduct the election, it's all through this thread. We all know the NMB will have to get involved to cert the new alliance, and this is the paperwork that the unions will have to file with them, but, the NMB does not have the jurisdiction to conduct, run or control the election of 2 unions merging, combining, or creating an alliance.

For you guys asking who cares who conducts this election? Well it does matter. If it is conducted by the union they can put anything they want as options on the ballot, which means they could leave off the options of "write-in and speak-in" which if conducted by the NMB they would list such options. By the union conducting it they can leave out yet another option for AMFA or other unions from being brought in. 700 has even back peddled on this very issue in the very beginning, as all of you can see in the very first postings in this thread. It took 2 weeks of prying to get him to admit that there will be the speak-in option on the ballot when he was claiming "other" for a long time. Being deceptive so nobody would catch on and fight them (IAM/TWU) about this alliance. They really don't want the membership to know all their options for this alliance vote due to they want to force the alliance vote to go thru and pass.
Bottom line to your post; Of course they will have to file for the election, but NMB will not conduct it.

Hey 700 fill everyone here in on how then GVP Robert Roach Jr. sold out US M&R. You posted and offered to share with Kev via PM...

Josh

700, let's take a break until Josh gets back to us, agreed?  However, I still do not understand why you will not verify on your own, and I still will comply with what I said if you do, therefore I encourage you and anyone else to fire off emails to the NMB before this election comes up.

IAM General Vice President Sito Pantoja and Transportation Department Staff met yesterday with the newly elected leadership of the Transport Workers Union (TWU) in Washington DC.

The parties made general introductions and discussed the TWU-IAM Joint Employee Associations and issues related to single carrier status.

Both unions agreed that in locations where one carrier is hiring and the other carrier has represented members on furlough, the unions would jointly approach the hiring carrier and request the furloughed represented members be offered employment.

The meeting was professional and cordial, and was the start of what is expected to be a strong IAM-TWU partnership at the New American Airlines.

So what. Doesn't address the membership concerns of this nonsense association. At no point did the membership as for this, all they care about is dues that is why they are doing this BS.

Its done so the furloughed employee is in place when integration is final and not have to wonder if there is going to be an opening for recall. Dues is a moot point here because even a new hire will pay dues so it doesn't matter. Someone who is on furlough could possibly wait years to be recalled if there is no opening till then.
