IAM WINS!

When the company and the company union TWU as well as the corrupt ibt all working in collusion just to block AMFA from getting on the ballot all in itself speaks volumes for AMFA's reputation. They are all scared of AMFA period. The ibt and TWU notified the company when they were going to file so the company could get the eligibility list "voluntary" mind you, and in a record few hours after the ibt filed, therefore "BLOCKING" AMFA from getting their cards in. If the company hadn't had the info there in record timing, them AMFA would have been on the ballot. It all goes to show that the industrial unions as well as the airlines out there will do anything to keep AMFA out or off of ballots. Look at the teamsters forgery and fraudulent card collection at AA. They all are scared of what will happen if AMFA got on the ballots, plain and simple and speaks volumes for AMFA. You too are scared if AMFA made it on the ballot... But don't worry there is still a chance. Watch and learn.

psssst....amfa was notified about the Teamster filing at the same time as the TWU and the company. The IBT lawyers sent all interested parties, this included amfa, advanced notification on intent to file. The company responded, amfa procrastinated and failed.

I have to argue your opinion of "soundly" defeating the Teamsters. It was your own brothers who invited and allowed the election to take place in the first place. By your own admittance, at least 1,400 of these members were willing to give up on the IAM and just as many, if not more, were so dissatisfied they chose to not even vote. I would take a good long hard look at your current representation before you start doing any kind of victory dance. The IAM has a very long history of short term memory. They will quickly forget about the concerns of the membership. Maybe it will be amfa next? I guarantee US Air will see another election in the coming years. One thing for certain. The IAM will never change.
The IAM has changed and will change, so with your logic the IBT is mafia controlled, overseen by the federal government ata cost of over $4million a year.

Once a criminal, always a criminal.

Sure thing guy

Just ask any UA mechanic how many times the IAM promised change during and after an amfa run? The only change was when we voted them out as our representatives. Unfortunately they got even worse for the remaining groups.

Time will tell....

Post a dated and signed copy of this notification. I would love to see it.

Please do that anomaly....

Wrong, if there was a normal SCS election the IAM would have to get about 3,000 cards to force an election, otherwise since the TWU M&R are more than double the size of the US M&R they would all become TWU.

Thats why in 2006 there was no election at US after the merger as the IBT couldnt gather enough cards to force an election.
The IBT didn't get enough cards the first time with the AWA merger BUT THEY DID THIS TIME and you only won by 11% of the TOTAL ELIGIBLE VOTERS (4376) and only 15% of the ones who did vote. As they say maybe the 3rd times the charm after you sell us out again.
So as you to say:(The IAM has changed and will change).
I don't think they will and as Anomaly said:(The IAM has a very long history of short term memory. They will quickly forget about the concerns of the membership.)
What about that promise to the PMUA M&R about a pension?

What about CO hiring off the street and UA has guys on layoff?

Is that the horse head show of power?
As far as UAL and CO hiring off the street the merger at AWA and USAIR with the IAM in AWA was hiring off the street and USAIR had guys on LAYOFF and Still DO so what is your point.

Just to keep the facts stright we wouldn't want to let you run amok twist things to far out of shape.

Once again you are a liar. AMFA was not notified. Your so full of it Anomaly! The teamsters had "no legal" reasons to notify AMFA. AMFA was just running a card drive at AA at the time and had nothing filed with the NMB, therefore, the teamsters had no legal reasons to notify them. And TRUST me, the teamsters would not go out of their way to notify AMFA of the filings just to keep them informed, they new there was going to be breaking news about it. Why in the heck would the teamsters want to notify? It was collusion between the teamsters, TWU and of course the company, as they always work together for the past 3 decades to screw the AA mechanics behind close doors. Get the facts before you post Anomaly... Post the documentation reflecting what you claim, There is none chief!!

I would have to agree with you on this as well. If the IAM is chalking this up as a victory, they've got their heads in the sand. I wouldnt count on a new IAM after this either, talk to the guys that are about to retire, they've been waiting their whole career. Its very comparable to the battered wife syndrome, it could be called the battered mechanic syndrrome.

There you go Travis, the new teamsters poster child after 2 loses in one week. But instead of the Wal-Mart face you should have used the horse head with a black eye instead...
WELL SWAMT IF YOU WISH TO PULL MY CHAIN I STILL HAVE SOME FIGHT IN ME SO WHY DON'T YOU PULL IN THE 00.18% HERE WHO VOTED AMFA AND ADD THEM TO YOUR LITTLE OVER 2600 STRONG UNION AND LETS SEE HOW LONG IT TAKES THE IAM/TWU TO EAT YOUR LUNCH AND WHILE WE ARE ON THAT HOW IS SWA's CONTRACT GOING STILL GETTING DONE BEFORE LUNCH AND STILL AT A STALL. he he he!

Chew Tobacco Chew Tobacco Chew Tobacco SPIT !

Travis I do not see anyone starting a drive at SWA or Alaska to rid themselves of the AMFA. Contrary to what has just happened at USAir and AA. It is about QUALITY of representation not Quantity. The Teamsters and the TWU as well as the IAM just gave a new definition of Strength in Numbers. There was no AMFA drive at USAir so the .18% means nothing. What really counted was the numbers in favor of the IAM. Not much to brag about since they too are not properly representing you guys at USAir.
