and if you believe that  do you want to buy some ocean front property in Arizona?

btw 700 ive long wondered what a jp morgan employee intrudes in the iam and claims to know a heck of a lot more than say you or kev or anyone else

still waiting that line by line  but have a gut feeling it aint gonna happen
I've often wondered what an out of work, former lav dumper, non airline employee, intrudes into the Delta board, spewing all the IAM rah rah..

And don't wait too long, speaking of the RLS, just wait to see how the IAM will railroad you fleet guys at US...
Parker, AH, all of them will be laughing it all the way to the bank.

Out of work?

That's funny, don't give up your day job.

And that would be stock clerk, and one's classification has nothing to do with their knowledge and education.

yoyo  for us at US we and the M&R have all the leverage  plus if DP and AH want that synergies to be realized  they'll have to come around

if you were a member in our boat right now  how would you feel knowing your same counter parts at AA are making more than you do     just to do the same exact work?

right now at DL  you folks with the exception of the pilots are at will   DL can change anything they want at anytime

Question for Kev:

Is there now a new classification for Seasonal RR? So it's not only limiting your hours but DL tells people upfront they are only working during the peak summer season?

Josh

Josh,
whether there is a separate category or not, DL has had seasonal employees for years.

I'd like to hear Kev's response but I doubt if there is a separate category because the nature of RR is that you are essentially flex labor.

And, again, as much as Kev and others dislike RR, it is exactly the type of flexibility that allows DL to keep its own staff in many more stations than its peers have.
If the costs don't justify a constant number of FT/PT employees, the only solution is to contract the station out or use flex labor.

Yes.

Essentially a sub-stegory of RR position that runs from Memorial Day-ish to Labor Day. They can expect to work 40 hrs./week, and bid separately from other RR's. They do not work before/after that, and there is no guarantee they'll be called back for the following year.

IIRC, the year before last was when it was introduced.

This is actually a very interesting case (and precedent). Even if you're against organized labor, it's worth a few minutes to check out the background here, especially how the term "student athlete" came into existence, why it did, and how that influenced this group of players.

not sure of the connection you are trying to make to DL and the airline industry but yes it is a VERY interesting case.

It also brings into play a whole lot of questions about college athletics.... and the bigger question is how universities will react if they have to start negotiating with students..... after all, the whole point of athletes is to get in/out of school fairly quickly.
