Alaska Airlines employees are receiving an annual bonus equal to about 9% of their annual pay, "or more than five weeks' pay for most workers," the company announced Wednesday.
Seattle-based Alaska Air says the bonus is in addition to $1,150 in 2013 monthly bonuses that most employees earned for achieving on-time and customer-satisfaction goals. The combined monthly and annual bonuses are part of the company's incentive-based pay program. Alaska Air says its total 2013 bonus payout amounted to about $105 million, the highest in its history.
