I see more & more pins & bag tags on FA's w/each passing day. It's exciting to see.
well if they really decide to take the plunge this time (and there is absolutely no assurance they actually will since they have played coy 3 or more times before), you can be absolutely certain that the tide will turn so fast it will make your and their heads spin so fast that an aircraft carrier landing will feel calm in comparison.

I think it is pretty safe to say that you can take that prediction to the bank. and it really doesn't matter what work group decides to be gullible enough to bite the apple first.

Union dues are usually based on two times the weighted hourly wage.

So if you dont know what the wages will be you cant figure it out.

And DL FAs wont pay dues until they have a ratified CBA.

Well, there you have it. The Delta marketing dept steps into threaten whoever chooses to go union.

So the pilots and dispatchers are gullible?

Yet the pilots by the end of this year since June of 2012 will have received a 20% raise and not other group has come close.

They had got a 17% raise before the profit sharing that was just paid out.

Yet the other groups got a 2% or 3% raise per year.

Now who is the gullible one?

So everyone pays the same? The IAM wants to maximize dues that's why they do weighted average structure.

Not everyone pays the same.

Its normally two hours the weighted hourly wage per classification.

So each classification pays the same dollar amount.

F/As are all the same classification.

Is Roach involved in the DL campaign this time around? I hope he screws it up like last time!

Anyone still buying the manufactured narrative about "family" and "direct relationships."
In other words anyone who doesn't see things exactly the way YOU see them 100% of the time.

Are you sure about that mr know it all?

There are Pursers and Lead FAs also.

Yeah too bad US carriers don't have management onboard like many foreign carriers do to maintain professionalism and onboard service consistency.

Josh

I cannot see mgmt flying aboard intl flts to maintain professional n onboard service consistency. Esp on the ulta long hauls. Leads n pursers. Yes. Mgmt no

it has nothing to do with marketing.

It has to do with a workgroup choosing to gain what it can at the negotiating table vs what the company is willing to get.... there may be a few DL employees who think they can get something better at the negotiating table, but there aren't many... esp. since the evidence is overwhelmingly in favor of DL employees and their direct relationship with mgmt. in getting more pay.

Anyone still buying the manufactured narrative about "family" and "direct relationships."

people don't really care about what it is called. they care about the money in their paycheck.

The unions not only have miserably failed their own membership at other airlines in delivering what they say they can deliver but DLs direct relationship far surpasses what those other employee groups get.

It is first and foremost an economic decision and no intelligent DL employee is going to believe they can keep the financial gains they have made and likely will continue to gain and stick a union in their too.

Let's keep one thing in perfect focus - the title of this thread is completely accurate. The IAM is stepping up the campaign to get millions of dollars in dues out of DL employees' pockets. THe IAM would be the only winner in a unionization campaign.

Robbed foreign carriers like Cathay and Singapore have this and the service is better and more consistent. And oh by the way the cabin attendants and stewardesses are union!

Josh

DL has 80K of its employees providing feedback on the service it provides as well as active solicitation of feedback from passengers.

DL actively requests feedback from its employees and pass riders about the level of service that is provided.

DL sends emailed requests for service responses to most passengers, including non-rev passengers after the flight.

DL realizes that the most effective way to improve its service is by providing a mechanism for responses not only from internal customers (fellow employees who have an interest in seeing that service levels remain high) but also from customers who are very likely to make a decision whether to purchase again within the first few hours after a flight. If customers experience something they didn't like, DL wants to hear about it and they likely want to tell DL, even if they won't take the initiative to start the conversation.

Well run companies actively seek feedback about how they are perceived and learn from what their customers say.
