Roa,

Now you making me do some homework dude! But jus' to prove my point I went to my library, aka bathroom, and pulled out my latest ATA (Air Transport World magazine)

According to the latest figures for the time frame of Nov. 2007 thru Jan. 2008:

in rpk's (revenue passenger kilometers)(000)

#1 American $204,676,121

#2 United $173,982,488

#3 Delta $153,202,349

Let's see then we got, CO, NW, SW.......then finally good ol' US with $62, 526,131.

Again.....WE ARE NOT A LEGACY CARRIER.......and to imply we are I feel is misleading.

Present your case to Doug Parker…He said himself…â€￾We have the second best balance sheet of all Air Carriersâ€￾.

Also…call the Wall Street Journal…so they can place us in our proper category.

Before you vote for this piece of crap contract that you are stuck with, according to todays Charlotte Observer the city garbage man makes more than I do. The salary is 36,272.
That is a piece of crap. THINK FOLKS.

Well we had a meeting in our station the other day and what we decided was that all those that vote yes get the raise and those that vote not get to keep the bankrupt contract.
We thought that seemd fair how about you guys?
Well fuzz since you and your co-workers are so dead set on this:
If This T/a is voted down and back to negotiations we go then if anything over $19.00 you give it to the ones who voted no this time! See how your co-workers feel about that!

Gf well you seem very confident we will not so please please tell us what you know

you all could lose your jobs if you don't make yourself affordable to a potential investor.

I really do not think that Fleet Service will hold up a "merger". And if you do, have another glass of the "kool-aid". Because that is all we have seen from the I'LL ASK MANAGEMENT for the past 5 years. Always taking the company's side and not the members.

United Airlines is considering Continental but its most likely partner will be US AIRWAYS.
I also think Randy Canale should get more credit from this group. . We had to give up protections for the west and the east so fleet service will be in position in 2011 for traditional bargaining.

If it really is UA, their Fleet CBA is up in 2009 like ours is, wouldn't it be better for all of Fleet Service, HP, US and UA to bargain as a whole and not a split group as you suggest. Isn't that the I'LL ASK MANAGEMENT'S motto "strength in numbers". Why would we wnat to be saddled with a POS BK contract untill possibly 2016. Why would we do that to ourselves?

What is truly mind boggling is the fact that some yes voters don't want to admit the true value of the COC. If there ever was a time to keep the COC it is now with an impending merger by all media accounts, CEO account, even the IAM has 'merger watch'. Getting rid of the COC, profit sharing, 2 year extension, reduction in force scope, other scope, etc is set up beautifully for United or American. All for the cost of having the worst vacation, sick policy in this entire industry and $1.50 less wage than Continental non-union folks.

With a merger, the COC has incredible value. Even if the company disputes it, it will still give fleet service leverage in a merger situation. All reasonable persons know this, including Hemenway who didn't mind that it was in the contract while doing the bankrupt investment transactions, but now is dead set of removing it. I think Hemenway knows a bit more than giants fan or fuzz about the COC.

Contract updates

Hadenough,

Unfortunately I will be around a lot longer. Got a kid in college and another going soon. Not even close to retirement age. I'm not even senior in my station....I'm about right in the middle. Why...you sick of me? :p

In all seriousness....why you asking?

GF,
Thought you told us you had 30yrs or was that 3.0 yrs???
I don't have a clue if we ever go back but why get to defensive about someone asking about the other side of the coin???

Not sick of you at all. Your post just make it sound like you don't plan to be around for any length of time. A lot of your reasoning sounds like what I'm hearing from two or three people who figure this will be their last contract. They just want to get what they can now and the future of fleet doesn't really concern them very much.

GF,

30 years in May dude. When Piedmont offered me a job back in 78 I took it. Just to enlighten a few folks out there.....30 years is not that senior for USAirways.

Rook....
Sorry to sound defensive. It's that no one has a crystal ball here and a lot of folks out there act like they do. Hey...if we vote no and they go right back back to the table, and come back with 20....you aren't gonna see a happier man than me. BUT.....the only thing I am going by is that both sides said they are NOT going back....so I don't think we should gamble on this. Just my opinion and I'm sticking with it!
