You NO guys complain a lot , but I don’t see any answers coming from you as to what you would do IF we send this TA back ????

What is it you PROPOSE to do in order for us to get a better TA ??? You say the company wants us to sign this really badly so they can merge , then why the hell isn’t this TA better than the last one offered ??? GEEZ if I was the company and wanted the workers to sign this really really BADLY , don’t you think the terms would have been better?

OR perhaps more realistically this company has bargained with our union to the best of it’s ability and this is what we have here today …

So lets assume the COC is worthless , are you going to SHUT DOWN , CLT and PHL in protest at the shitty TA ???

My brothers chide me to remind the readers here that most of the people on here have lost credibility , these are the same people who SWORE up and down that the change in control was a sure win , if you don’t believe me just keep going back in the pages until you see the topics from fleet around that time ….

Not to toot my own horn , but I was one of the VERY few who told the east guys that they were going to lose and I also explained that if we lost the next TA we got would most likely not be as good as the one offered to us at that time ….

Please , don’t let me be the guy looking back who goes “ I told you so “ again .

Here's my answer, Freedom. We send in the New Direction team after they are elected in June. I personally know our PHL candidate and he will not take any cra& from Al or the others. There is Hope on the horizon.

We have about the same amount of oil production as we did five years ago , but the problem is we have a lot more cars , and unfortunately they aren’t in the good ole US of A …

OUR STOCK IS AT 6 DOLLARS???????boy can you be any dumber....of course this t/a is worse how could they use scare tactics to convince you to vote for for it if it was better.this only proves the point as to how ignorant the company thinks we as a group are.the company is arrogant and thinks we the unskilled are as dumb as a rock.guys like you prove their point everyday.im tired of guys complaining about how much they make on the west side but who is to blame for that.if you cant make it on your salary then do something about it and tell the company enough is enough.dont fall into the idea that they care about you at all.i was f/t and when us went into bk i lost my f/t status and was p/t for 3 years because i would not move .my choice.i took a 62 percent pay cut as a result and still fed my family and helped my daughter get through college.you do what you have to but i will not let this company dictate to me that i am some kind of clown.as far as stock prices what the h=ll does that matter.as of today..amr closed at 6.91...lcc at 6.25..nwa at 7.10...dal at 6.56...ual at 13.95...cal at 16.04.using your logic all these airlines must be going under as well.get real.grow a set and become a manager if you want to.

i keep hearing about us being unskilled labor and we should only expect so much.are you serious have a little pride in yourself.i am not saying i should be paid the same as a mechanic,pilot etc.but crew schedulers make more than we do.i argued with a pilot once who thought we were overpaid and my argument was that i dont get paid for my brain power but after years of working the ramp i can expect to age with a bad back,bad elbow and knee joints,hearing loss and who knows what toxins we are ingesting
from aircraft exhaust,fiberglass in bins,etc.took 50 years for the coal industry to recognize black lung disease.that is why i should be paid a decent wage and think that this t/a is garbage.i can understand the company for not caring about us but to hear my own union brothers and sisters dog us out that is b=ll.if you want to vote yes do so it is your choice.just dont get mad when i vote no.also dont complain later when you realize once again that the iam got you.remember myself and others told you so.

If you let the “fear mongers†convince you that everything is “Gloom and Doomâ€â€¦
You will never…I repeat …never… get an equitable agreement from the Company.

Those who are well… or even partially versed in negative psychology… can relate to what I’m indicating here.

The Company will most likely launch another phase of “Gloom and Doom†tomorrow, when they report an anticipated loss for the first quarter of 2008.

Look for this announcement to be heavily interwoven with “Fuel Cost†language.

I will ask all Fleet Service Members to understand the inequities that are being perpetuated upon us (Fleet) in this substandard T/A.

Think about the future with another carrier!
 
Keep beating that same drum to us yes voters, we are misguided, foolish, etc.....

But here's what I think....anybody who is going to acquire a $3.50 an hour raise by voting yes and then is told by a no voter to "grow a set or become a manager" well that's just IGNORANT.

How many of you easties would vote down a contract that was going to give you $3.50 an hour raise?

I'll answer that for you NONE....so don't even start on "well it doesn't mean anything if we don't have a job".....blah, blah, blah
 
hey giant---if you read the whole t/a you dont get a 3.50 raise.take out your increase in insurance,lose a couple holidays,scope and future chances for profit sharing.401 match etc.stop looking at the hourly rate and realize the entire agreement.i for one would love a raise but at what cost.if i put 3.50 in your right pocket and then take 3.50 out of your left pocket what do you have left.read the whole agreement not just one line.get real.

3.50 an hour raise is over $560 a month....last I checked my insurance costs me 99/month

They would still have 7 holidays.....profit sharing???? Are you kidding me? Well when we turn a profit years down the road I'll donate mine to ya...has that?? My $850 check didn't get me too far....401k match? When your making $15.50 an hour how much could you possibly be contributing?

You're blowing everything out of proportion....talk about scare tactics!

Yes, these factors are causing oil prices to increase. What's causing it to SKYROCKET is the price of the dollar which is falling faster then that satellite the Navy shot down did. We buy products, even internationally, with dollars. The Dollar isn't worth anything even near what it used to. All those other factors arent' whats causing prices to increase as fast as they are. Those increases have been happening for decades and will continue for decades more, but at a slow pace.


I will concede that this T/A may once again may be doomed to go down. That just makes me sick to think I and many others will have to continue to suffer under these sorry wages for God knows how long.

Well, at least if you're a West employee you have cheaper health insurance/copays, full sick time, and STD/LTD to cover your sickness.
 
hey giant sorry about your finances.but we all have been there.as for your insurance rates i dont know what coverage you need but easties pay 99.00 for a 80/60 ppo for families.215.00 for a 90/70.and 316.00 for 100/80.also copays are high,prescriptions high crappy coverage.hope no one in your family ever gets sick.i know guys here who have cancer and have to pay over 300.00 a week just in co-pays.eats in to that 3.50 raise real quick.in a perfect world the 3.50 sure looks good but please look at all the things you are about to get as well.if you want to vote yes so be it.hope it works for you.ive been in this company for 28 years and the last 15 ive been going backwards.for me its time to take a stand.if i cant get a better deal i will live with that.just cant see myself at least trying.if you ever get to pit leave a msg we can have a beer and laugh after all this is over.i may disagree with you but we are still union bros.
