sidenote: M/R go back to the table this week. rumor has it they are close . IT will be interesting to see what the company

gives them . or should I say doesn't take away from them. I think that may help strengthen our neg. This is the first time

that mtc goes before fleet service. should be interesting.

MTC is not close, I spoke with a GC last week and he said if there is no movement this week from the company negotiations will cease and they will wait till Section 6.

why wait till section 6 [two more years] if they can start section 6 for the westies next week? At any rate, I've spoken to a few mechanics and the way they feel is if a transition agreement isn't doable then it's not doable and they seem fine with waiting as opposed to getting disrespected by this company.

According to the GC I spoke with, they are no where near a deal, company wants to outsource everything.

Section 6 is next year Tim for M&R.

A few pages back there was talk about starting up a Law Suit over Section6 for the West. Would this have to include M&R or just Fleet? Can we suggest the Circuit Court could oversee this as a case outside the company and union. Or, is this just a fabrication.

There has been a great disjustice served the AWA workers and somehow no union can touch it without the company approving it. Can any one decide if this suit can be done?

HEY, HEY, HHHHEEEYYYY! I think the title of the post says FLEET SERVICE THREAD not MR.

With that said getting back to Fleet subjects...

This talk about a law suit should have been brought about when the IAM bought out the TWU without the memberships say. There should have been an election.

From what I have been told if the IAM wants to bring the West into the CBA there is no vote by anybody if there are no changes to the CBA. West meets East. Seniority is DOH in classificaton.

Bottom line is I don't think the West will be very happy other than a few extras dollars per hour that will be eaten up by the decrease in sick time coverage, less holidays, less vacation, no shift premium, no double time, higher insurance costs outsourcing (loss of jobs) etc. etc etc.

If the company and the IAM can't come up with a reasonable TA than everone would be better off waiting until 2009 and shove it up their a$$eS!
