I Got 15 Kids & 3 Babydaddys-SOMEONE'S GOTTA PAY FOR ME & MY KIDS!

Not really. The right wing idiots who do not want to allow sex ed and free contraception who are wasting money. Highest teen birth rate in the western world. Go team.

do you really think that will change anything? She and others like her are not having those kids because they know what is causing it to happen. They are having them to increase the level of govt handout they get.
And the right are idiots?? you could give her a truck load of birth control pills and she would still have 15.Wake the fk up!

Actually, I was looking for a solution and not a lefty-righty finger pointing contest. We currently have a 2 or 3 generations of welfare recipients. Our solution in the past (and present) has been to warehouse them in projects and section 8 housing. Some of these areas the police are afraid to go.
In a dream world, it would be nice to think we could just put them on the streets and let them figure it out themselves, but that's not going to happen either.
I like the work for your welfare concept by cleaning streets or volunteer work. some re-education, mandatory birth control.
Just my 2 cents..

Yes I do think it would work. Studies have been conducted Ill need to see if I can find the last one I heard of) and it has been proven that education and available birth control does reduce unwanted pregnancies and government dependance.

The right would rather ignore the problems and use silly slogans (just say no or 'abstinence only') and hope the problem foes away.

As with most problems you van spend a little money now or you can spend a lot more later.

What is your idea to stem the increase in unwanted pregnancies?

How does cleaning streets or performing volunteer work get anyone off welfare? Would itnot be better to have job training programs and overhaul the public education system?

Sadly the solution is: Honey you're on your own. The government exists to preserve liberty not finance bad judgement.

The part people forget about Freedom & Liberty is the Accountability & Responsibility that goes along with it. That's the case here.

The solution is to have a social safety net become a safety net that rewards people who use good judgement but despite there efforts find themselves in a bad spot.

I have precious little sympathy for this woman, the kids should be put up for adoption and the mother left to fend for herself.

They already have access to free birth control but choose not to get it.
As far as education, that is available at any planned parenthood clinic.
But you have to want it.
Clearly, there are people whom are to ignorant or just don't care.

Teaching 'self worth', we get cleaner streets and they don't get a free ride.
Same with volunteer work. Put them to work in a day care or cleaning bed pans, cooking food, something!

One of the problems is there is no incentive to look for a real job.
This lady is a prime example of her 'right to entitlement' mentality that our gooberment perpetuates. Instead of trying to correct bad behavior, we encourage it with each lil bastard that she shoots out.

If there were strict limits on how much help one gets there might be an incentive to pull up your boot straps and take care of yourself and family.

If they have to 'do something' for their entitlement mentality then they might get a job! Welfare chain gangs might be a wake up call for chronic offenders.

Then we have the problem of paid street cleaners, child care workers, etc... Who will #### that they are taking their jobs

One of the things she mentioned is how the government put her 'babies daddy' in jail and that took away income for her. Well guess what, more than likely this leach was living with her rent free and throwing a lil sumpin sumpin into the household until he was put in jail.

If I hear one more "I'm a single mother so treat me special" phrase, I may go postal.

So thanks for your meager input, as usual.

This is what 100 years of Government "help" gets you. Some ROI for the do good types, eh?

Pine Ridge Statistics as of 2007
  • Unemployment rate of 80-90%
  • Per capita income of $4,000
  • 8 Times the United States rate of diabetes
  • 5 Times the United States rate of cervical cancer
  • Twice the rate of heart disease
  • 8 Times the United States rate of Tuberculosis
  • Alcoholism rate estimated as high as 80%
  • 1 in 4 infants born with fetal alcohol syndrome or effects
  • Suicide rate more than twice the national rate
  • Teen suicide rate 4 times the national rate
  • Infant mortality is three times the national rate
  • Life expectancy on Pine Ridge is the lowest in the United States and the 2nd lowest in the Western Hemisphere. Only Haiti has a lower rate.

Yes, the give them legitimate jobs is working    NOT! When they were going to round up the welfare queens and give them menial jobs, they complained that they felt like prisoners. Imagine that? They actually felt like the people who support their @$$#$! So now since governments give incentives to people who hire the welfare queens at a DECENT WAGE, they have ways of supplementing their income. They go back to their roots and do what they do best, without kids! My city has always been a TEST MARKET and what is happening here, will soon be at your door. PS, I wouldn't eat at certain places, and remember I worked at an airport that is going trailer/ghetto and I lets leave it at that!

The photos in eolsen's two posts are blatantly and glaringly racist. Really?

A mixed, stereotypical "white trash" woman with a long haired black man are depicted as "the problem", and a clean cut white professional depicted sadly watching the collapse of the city???

Nothing but an exercise in emotional button pushing, designed to stir up hate, fear, and false pride.

Anyone who has ever been to a walmart south of I70 and east of the continental divide, and isn't blind, knows damn well that plenty of white, southern, christian folks are damn well receiving aid. Lots of it.

If anecdotal evidence isn't enough, look at the data, state by state.

No, I will not. Do your own research or remain ignorant

(I am not against folks receiving aid, or paying my fair share for those who need it. Need being a key point...)

I am against hypocrisy, and this bs viral internet/email stereotype crap, most of which distorts some microbit of truth into an overgrown "fact" of conventional wisdom. Effectively, using some bit of truth to perpetuate an outright lie.

Usually in a base attempt to rile up the base or create the illusion that "those people", you know, the ones who aren't like us... Are the problem.

Absolutely shameful...

E... Seriously dude, you should get out in the world and meet some real people.

What about the current 400,000 children who are in the US foster care system? Also, does the law support the confiscation of children? Would it not be easier and cheaper to try and address the issue at the root cause than closing the door to the barn after the horse left?

Where is this free birth control that you speak of?

The education I was referring to was school in general not just family planning. Also, there is only one PP office remaining in MS. Who else teaches family planning?

In principle I agree that there should be limits but how one does that and not affect the children I do not know.

We have the highest teen pregnancy rate in the western world. That has to be addressed. What we are doing obviously is not working.

Free Birth Control & Annual Exams

mtbhometakecharge.jpg

Take Charge is a program that provides no-cost reproductive health and family planning services to teens, men and women in order to prevent unintended pregnancies.
Take Charge program is administered by the Washington State Health Care Authority. Planned Parenthood does not approve or deny your application. We fax completed applications to the Health Care Authority for approval.

Which "Root Cause"? The one where the Mother is as dumb as a bag of hammers? Her blatant sense of entitlement? Look comedian Ron White said it best. "You can;t fix stupid"
