Josh Duggar admits to porn addiction and being ‘unfaithful’ to wife: ‘I have been the biggest hypocrite ever’

I have been the biggest hypocrite ever. While espousing faith and family values, I have secretly over the last several years been viewing pornography on the internet and this became a secret addiction and I became unfaithful to my wife.

I am so ashamed of the double life that I have been living and am grieved for the hurt, pain and disgrace my sin has caused my wife and family, and most of all Jesus and all those who profess faith in Him.

I brought hurt and a reproach to my family, close friends and the fans of our show with my actions that happened when I was 14-15 years old, and now I have re-broken their trust.

The last few years, while publicly stating I was fighting against immorality in our country, I was hiding my own personal failings.

As I am learning the hard way, we have the freedom to choose to our actions, but we do not get to choose our consequences. I deeply regret all hurt I have caused so many by being such a bad example.

I humbly ask for your forgiveness. Please pray for my precious wife Anna and our family during this time.

Josh Duggar

Is that enough evidence for your Eric?

Fundamentalists consider viewing pornography as being unfaithful.

It's hardly proof that the data leak is accurate.

Meanwhile, while you get all giggly over the thought of someone being caught doing something bad, there are enough reports already saying that a lot of the email addresses and info on the website may (gasp) be faked.

http://www.wcnc.com/story/technology/2015/08/20/charlottencgov-among-addresses-in-ashley-madison-leak/32050815/

The leaked data includes names, addresses and phone numbers, but Wired.com noted it is unclear if members provided legitimate information. The data also included specifics on what users were searching for in a partner.
BBC reports that some politicians overseas were supposedly members. Or weren't:

It's worth noting that people were able to sign up to Ashley Madison using false names and email address - no email account verification was required. One Scottish National Party (SNP) MP, Michelle Thomson, whose email address was among the millions included in the dump, has said the address was harvested by hackers and that she never contacted the website herself. There are also a number of obviously fake details - including an email address for FBI agent Fox Mulder, a character on TV show, The X-Files.

One Ashley Madison customer apparently used former British prime minister Tony Blair’s work e-mail to set up their seeking-sex account. (Ashley Madison does not verify the e-mail addresses, meaning anyone could have used Blair’s e-mail, Wired pointed out.)

Uh, has anyone considered that some of what's being released by the hackers might be fake just to bring more attention to the hack itself?

If the guy was buying time on the site, then that's his shame to wear. But I also wouldn't put it past someone to "seed" the list with a few high profile names from recent headlines knowing they'd get six different news stories in five hours.
Josh Duggar Admits to Cheating on His Wife Anna Duggar: "I Have Been the Biggest Hypocrite Ever"

"I have been the biggest hypocrite ever. While espousing faith and family values, I have secretly over the last several years been viewing pornography on the internet and this became a secret addiction and I became unfaithful to my wife," he wrote. "I am so ashamed of the double life that I have been living and am grieved for the hurt, pain and disgrace my sin has caused my wife and family, and most of all Jesus and all those who profess faith in Him."

He apologized directly to his family for his latest and previous scandal. "I brought hurt and a reproach to my family, close friends and the fans of our show with my actions that happened when I was 14-15 years old, and now I have re-broken their trust," he continued. "The last few years, while publicly stating I was fighting against immorality in our country, I was hiding my own personal failings. As I am learning the hard way, we have the freedom to choose to our actions, but we do not get to choose our consequences. I deeply regret all hurt I have caused so many by being such a bad example."

I guess if it's on the internet, it must be true, eh? Feel free to continue celebrating the downfall of others if it makes y'all feel better about yourself.

Frankly, don't really care either way since it doesn't affect how I live my life or what I try to teach my kids.

You just cant admit one of your idols has fallen.

The right wing are a bunch of hypocrites, keep defending a child molester, how would you feel if he molested your kid?

Uh, when did I ever say this guy was a role model? Or any of the Duggers for that matter?

All I'm saying is that the info on the Ashley Madison data dump should be taken with a grain of salt. Over 15,000 government and military addresses?

I can't imagine the stupidity of people looking to have affairs using their work email address. But hey, keep holding out hope that it's all true.

Again, you're celebrating the personal failures of others. Ask yourself why that's so important.

What dont you get about he admitted cheating on his wife and being a child molester?

Not celebrating anything, pointing out yours and others hypocrisy.

While Dugar may not have an effect on peoples lives, the like of Foley, Gingrich and others who are in elected office voting against the rights of others while being a hypocrite in their private life does.

Most drunks and smokers I know don't want their kids doing the same things they continue to do. It doesn't mean the message is wrong.

Someone having an affair doesn't mean they're wrong when they speak out against harvesting aborted fetuses for the valuable parts, or the importance of a strong family.

But hey, continue to focus on what people do in their private lives and/or bedrooms, Tree.

Just know that by doing so, you're no less of a hypocrite.

In some cases it it is.  And it does mean they are being a hypocrite.  Do as I say not as I do has never been a good role model nor does it encourage good behavior.

No one is harvesting parts.  The fetuses are being aborted anyway.  Some people want the parts to be donated to science so something good can come of it.  Why waste the tissue when it can be used bt people like Ben Carson to advance medical science?

I am not focusing on it.  The RNC is doing it.  They are seeking to pass laws governing what people may and may not do.  Who do you think it behind the blue laws throughout the nation?  Who is behind all the marriage amendments?  Who is behind the abstinence only push?  Who is behind teaching religion is science class?  Pretty sure its not the progressives.

There is no hypocrisy in pointing out that the King has no clothes on.  There is no hypocrisy in pointing out that Rep Courser who preaches traditional family values is cheating on his wife with another married woman and refuses to resign from office.  They hypocrisy lies with him and with you for not facing the fact that he is a hypocrite and you have yet to acknowledge it.
