ibt went bye bye and all PSA Mechanic and Related at PSA became IAM.

By the way that is a 737-400 that was in the CLT Hangar undergoing heavy mtc, something you dont do out west.
And 700UW is an Airbus A319, not a B737-400.

If single carrier status is granted your contract goes away and you will be transitioned into the IAM/US CBA.

Is that too hard to understand?

The ibt will no longer be your representative.

Here's some info copied from the weekly FAQ's.

Q. Are there any aircraft types planned in base maintenance other than the 737?

A. For 2006, the CLT hangar plan is based on B737 C and Q checks (The Q check is an East heavy structural check similar to West’s D check). As we go through the merger process, we will be developing longer-range plans for all of the bases. We would like to have bases specialize on aircraft models but that might not be entirely possible and at least one of the bases might see a mix of fleet types.

Nada about ANY union, one union, the other union. So in my opinion, it doesn't put much credibility in the belief by some, of outsourcing all maintenance under the IBT contract. Sounds like they are looking to the FUTURE. Developing long range plans for ALL the bases.

For a few week maybe there is going to be a vote and the IAM is going bye bye. You dont have the numbers you think you have NMB 9.204 9.207 9.208 9.210 take away apx 1900 Uitily workers for starter cause they have no chance of coming back

what are the # of utility/ tech on furlough?
how many on furlough would vote? not many
what work is coming in house?
us west don't have utility? if knew the facts you would know that.

are talking of 19.501-19.7 NMB representation manual
is so the ibt and iam certification stay in effect till NMB issues a new or certification or dismissal.
that could be a vote or IAM or vote and IBT or decertification.

I'm sure the company is asking for things in return. until the jobs are on site don't get to excited.

First of all, single carrier status has NOT been declared. Second, the cards are being collected to force a vote. When and if there are enough cards to force a vote, the vote will take place and then the representing union will be declared. And please, please, please, don't spout off about members not voting and winding up as "at will employees." Members are obligated, if by nothing other than themselves, to vote. And if they don't, then the outcome will be the outcome and only because the members felt ZERO obligation to themselves and those that depend on them. But at least if it comes down to a vote, there will be options. Talk about drinking the kool-aid.....there are very, very, very few on any of these boards, that are current IAM members that are willing to back the union and the contract, as you are. And if you can factually present any number of these individuals, we would all welcome them.

One more thing......did the PSA mechanics and related vote???
