There is no reason for the IAM to provide any info to non-union workers at HP until the NMB makes a ruling on the single carrier status of the ibt files for an election.
It would be a waste of time and resources to operate on "IFs".
first, who or what did she attempt to contact? that has a huge bearing on a lot of things....700 with all due respect...if your excusing the IAM for not responding to AIRWOMAN because of "what if's" then why are your so SURE the IAM will prevail. AIRWOMAN and I are in the same boat. Non-represented that will be either IAM or IBT. So if your so confident that all 7000 members will count and it's a done deal don't use "what if's" as an excuse for the IAM not responding to AIRWOMAN. As you say "Don't let the facts get in your way".
Oh and by the way, do you really think that the NMB is going to compare apples and oranges....7000 members including clerks and what not against 1100 mechanics. It's not rationale to think that US East has almost 7 times the members of the same crafts as US West? Doesn't add up and they should dig a little deeper. Don't count your chickens yet.
first, who or what did she attempt to contact? that has a huge bearing on a lot of things....
the 7000 members you infer to are already represented by unions at both companies and if you aren't it doesn't apply or include your group.union represented only...time for you to organize maybe?
as far as comparing apples and oranges?? its called precedent in past actions or decisions.its fact.
as far as the chickens.......
because like has been reported before...there is no campaign here except by the raiding group...nothings been declared yet for IAM to do anything.this is a one sided game at this point in time. Why does one side openly discuss and the other doesn't??
IMO, both sides have everything to lose and everything to gain. As we all know, the NMB has yet to make the declaration. Or maybe, because I'm not familiar with the IAM and it's workings, they believe the potential members are a waste of time.because like has been reported before...there is no campaign here except by the raiding group...nothings been declared yet for IAM to do anything.this is a one sided game at this point in time.
its a business for both sides....IAM has everything to gain and nothing to lose at this moment.IBT has everything to gain and much to lose....
until NMB puts out some type of answer....its all in a holding pattern.
NMB rules...then its IBT's time to put up or shut up...so why should IAM run around wasting assets and resources on a quite possible non-issue?
Yeah.......I guess it's even.when the time comes...IF....then they'll do something i'm sure.
like any businees, they won't throw money away until they need too.they have an excellent organizing group which 700 can attest to.
as for your email...i don't know what to say.....maybe a phone call would net you better results?
you can make issue here on the boards over an email ,but when you get someone on a phone and say for instance, they hung up on you, then i'd think you'd have a case for an honest gripe.
i think they get a lot of emails for one thing....
ok,let me be fair here.....this happened now that you mention e-mails....
long ago when all these things we discuss were in their infancy.....when awa merger was in a folder but known was coming...i too sent an email to IBT...i never did get an answer either as a matter of fact...really...i forgot about that.so guess we're even?
have a nice weekend
WELL HOW GOOD TO SAY HELLO TO A NEW UNION MEMBER.. HOW DID YOU TWO SAY IT.ME FOR ME. As a Teamster we say welcome to the union.............ask what you want we have it, UPFRONTYou are not in the 7,000, how do you even know if your cards will mean anything?
I will..........why the ignore from the e-mail address on the IAM website??
E-mail sent.........we'll see. :unsure:I will..........why the ignore from the e-mail address on the IAM website??
