The only reason you don't want solutions is because of the giant advantage of the NIC to you.
We have a solution. It is called the Nicolau. A neutral decided.

The only reason you want DOH is because it greatly advantages you. Not using the Nicolau only one side decided.

Which method would you like to use for the next merger? Neutral or APA deciding?

Let's see....so what's the big deal, the NIC would "only" delay the upgrade of an East F/O by 2-3 years'

Well here's the big deal...as one of those "never furloughed" 17 year F/O's, a delay of 2-3 years would mean that my last 2-3 years (out of a total of 30) would result in retirement at 65 as an F/O. While the nice young man just ahead of me on the NIC would, after my retirement and "actuarialy" speaking (average life span for a male in the USA is 76 years, even less for pilots) be sitting in the left seat of a widebody aircraft, for approximately 10 years more, after I will have been DEAD! Anybody who thinks that is OK, is a greedy dirtball, period.

Did I make a "poor choice" going to work at USAir?, in retrospect yes. Not that going to work at America West was the smartest choice either. As it turns out, it looks like it is all going to work out well for most. Neither East or West pilots (with the possible exception of new hires) EVER had and expectation of flying for the worlds largest airline, at essentially, industry "standard wages", so what's the problem?

If someone thinks that I am "out of line" desiring to end my "less than illustrious career" as a narrow body Captain and capture a little "extra" in my last few, particularly someone who will by the time they end their career, have spent the last 10 or so years at the TOP of the industry pay scale as a widebody Captain, well...then you can "kiss my butt" and you will have to force me to give that up... good luck with that!

Let's see. The claim of the east MEC was a max of 2 years not 2-3 and only for certain east pilots not all.

So that means that at best after a 30 years career stand alone you could hope to be a captain for less then 2 years. Very poor career choice. The west should not have to make up for your decisions.

You also need to understand that stand alone, you were ever going to make captain because us airway was closing the doors.

Finally, we are going into another merger. Your career expectation are changing again. If you were not goi g to make captain using the Nicolau do you think you will if APA has anything to say about it? You are not getting DOH with the APA. You will not get DOH with the west.

The best you could have dreamed after 30 years was NB for a few months. But instead you want a west pilot to never upgrade, delay our upgrade by 10 years so you can get something you were never going to get stand alone.

Nicolau saw that. Did not let that happen.

The east reputation proceeds you. If you thought the west was tough wait until the APA comes at you. They know they can't trust you to deal fairly or live up to your word. They know you east pilots want to take what is not yours.

Get used to the right seat. That is your retirement position.

Wow! The latest Flightline magazine is out at APA.

You guys need to read this.

"This merger will give American Airlines the size, route structure and the synergies to defeat Delta and United..." BY CAPTAIN ANTHONY CHAPMAN, APA VICE PRESIDENT

KILL, KILL, KILL!

DISHONOR IN OUR RANKS
FIRST OFFICER SCOTT SHANKLAND, APA SECRETARY-TREASURER

"For the few delinquents, APA's legal advisers have told me that the loophole exploited by this dishonorable handful precludes my forcing the collection of their agency fees or seeking their employment termination for default as provided for in the contract. However, since all union financial information is federally regulated to be public, I am at liberty to identify them. In fact, those who know me know that I am a passionate defender of our resources and I make no allowances for selfish conduct. Accordingly, I feel compelled to expose this behavior."

Take THAT, you inferior TWA scum!

We don't care about your time, how much work you put into your career. In fact, here is what we believe:

ALLIED PILOTS ASSOCIATION: FIRST OFFICERS SHOULD HAVE THE SAME QUALIFICATIONS AS CAPTAINS. (As long as your junior to us because only APA pilots are the best.)

And AOL thought East pilots were arrogant. You better remove those "butt plugs" now while you can.

How to Fix the Pilot Seniority Mess at US Airways by Ted Reed.

Post-it note to Ted:

"AOL stands on legal, moral and ethical grounds and we will prevail."....
even though we keep losing in court.
Ted Reed the pet reporter for usapa.

He better be careful though. A couple statements in that article will get him kicked out of the usapa club,

Like living in a world where final and binding is not final and binding.

Or that someone is going to lose.

Straying from the party line that usapa is on moral and legal high ground. That usapa has the possibility of losing. He has not said that before.

The FAA uses "time" to measure flight qualifications. Unionism has ALWAYS valued time in service with your company as a measurement of value.

We get paid based on flight time.

Yet pilots always want to jump over those, like APA and West pilots who believe unionism is determined by someone else other than those who are IN that same profession.

Hey, let's reward drone pilots 100% credit for their time armchair flying. Give them extra credit if they get a medal for it. Then lets let them lead the pilots!

That's the ticket.

Not sure what your point is.

ALL west new hires have the qualifications to be a captain. If fact almost all were captains somewhere else when we got hired. Can the same be said for the 23 year old charity hires of the kids of us airways pilots?

But what is more concerning is the statement if it is true that an official union publication that is legally required to represent all pilots fairly and equally. Would write "take that you inferior TWA scum.

Will you be ok with take that you inferior east scum written by the APA? Is that acceptable to you? Believe that the APA is treating you fairly?

You guys better understand you are not going to be the majority anymore.

The overwhelming probability is that no court or arbitrator will allow USAPA to make a Reserve F/O senior to a Captain on the same airplane.

APA is not going to negotiate that either.

That's my prediction.

When was the west going to upgrade on east equipment had we shut the doors? NEVER. That's the problem with that argument. Again, you ignore the windfall of that report, the delay or never achieving WB captain, the longer time on reserve, the holidays and vacations lost, all at the expense of east pilots. Just says who you are.

Enjoy that right seat for a while longer.

So East new hires DON'T?
