787nightmare you hated it at aa in tule you hated at boeing. Thats why I suggested some away from planes. No I don't know what you have been going through your past 22 years, but you sound like a lot of guys at AA #### #### and if they every do finally leave they are bitching again about trying to get back to AA
what kind of job at AA are you looking for anyway
Bob not really seeing the shortage of A&P in ord from my point of view anyway
787 nightmare
Accusing Paul1 and I of being potential scabs because I made a good decision 26 yrs ago to work for a legacy carrier instead of a charter outfit is a bit much. I never complain about working at AA, becasue I looked into the job market outside AA in 2003 and saw nothing better then AA even at 2003 rates.
I wish the other guys on this forum would have gone through what you have, to relise how bad it could be. kind of like the TWA, pan am, and EAL mechs.
AAR is hiring in OKC and there is a company converting ailiners into freighters (our S80's) at MIA if you're interested, it won't be at AA rates but it's better then nothing.

We asked that question and the response was, We were told they are going to keep filling the spots and then in March the cuts will begin !!!
Who put out the word?Just got word from our local here at Alliance that approximately 103 AMT heads at DWH will be cut in March of 2011 !!! And that is not a roomer its a fact !!!
We were told about this last night by the local union president Larry Pike , he was making his way dock to dock going base wide telling folks ....Who put out the word?
Kind of curious to know where he got the info from.We were told about this last night by the local union president Larry Pike , he was making his way dock to dock going base wide telling folks ....
To me there was no creditable reason for this RIF, But it was never mentioned that they were going to close DWH , so nobody really knows whats going to happen after the RIF, my guess is only upper management knows and even then i don't think they know what they are doing half the times !! apparently this is a perfect example of it !!! Why would you move folks down here and in a few months RIF them again , whats with that ??? GezzzzzzzAny rhyme or reason? Did AA plans change regarding outsourcing? Since there will be no legislation restriciting the outsourcing of maintenance by domestic carriers, maybe AA finally had decided to outsource all heavy maintenance, and the need for DWH had just diminished overnight.
Will it be TULE MRO or OVERSEAS MRO?
You decide!
