DWH Scam on the horizon

so is dwh shutting down or what
I have yet to see a letter from local 562 reguarding any rifs at dfw/dwh, you dont staff a station knowing you will reduce head count in less than half a year, looks like company trying to scare the new transfers, but they did a recall @ MCI in MAR 2008 for 90 heads just to do a 767 winglet and lay them off in JAN 2009 so hard to say, they can move work at a drop of a hat.........

They're interviewing for schedulers there...and according to a conversation I've had with a manager in TULE, it sounds like the hgr is gearing up for "drop-ins" and heavy line maint. This will eliminate the need to ferry aircraft to TULE for work. Obviously a cost saving measure.

I guess a WARN notice would verify the rumor.
Now, if it is just a rumor, it is a controlled one. Everyone should expect more rumors to surface as the company is stepping up the pressure due to the rejected T/A.
But the changes being enacted in TULE are proof that some things are inevitable.

Doesn't AA have a WARN notice in effect 24/7/365 already? Sure seems like it.

Local 565 covers DFW/DWH.

We are being told AA will hire 447 mechanics in 2011 in Tulsa upgrading the rest of the RIF employees first and then hiring off the street. Supposed to call back 30+ a month starting in January. Many new lines are starting up next year. The rejected TA does not seem to be an effect on AA in 2011 in TULE???

Mechanic hiring will be taking place throughout the system. With retirements continuing and people resigning, they still need to maintain the headcount. Keep in mind, they can still continue to hire AND enact change.
This is why they wanted the TA pretty badly. They have plans but would still like the new classification and no DB in place.
And I also believe change is not exclusive to TULE...Eventually Class I stations will see the B Check come under "base" rules. I see that new classification of mechanic being utilized on the B checks.
