Delta Labor Relations thread.

No time clocks...yet. Some areas use a program that tracks the amount of time they spend on a job. When they get a job they have to log in and attach their man number to it. So it is basically clocking in and out to that job.

EmPower is basically a time clock but they say they don't look at that.
but thats base maintenance only as far as I know.

I think the shops just sign in

Apparently, DL is requiring employees in some stations to use clear backpacks. To those of you not in IFS, is your station doing that as well?

Have you heard the one about the PL who comes into the break room and says, "We are at 28% Ready Reserves right now in MSP, but don't worry. We are only going to 35%, so there is an end in sight. " This is not a joke. It is reality.

On the same day as Delta announced voluntary leaves for full timers in MSP, they started a new Ready Reserve class. Delta's goal is quite clear. There simply can be no question about it. They seek to create a high turn over, low wage workforce that is forced to accept whatever comes down the pike.

They want a workforce that has no memory, no organization, no ability to speak. Just profit producing machines that can be spit out when they wear out.

One of the reasons people follow what happens on this page is because there is information on what is happening around the system. There is discussion. There are ideas. Imagine how powerful we could become if we had union reps in every station, if we had union meetings, legal break room meetings, if we could talk openly at work about problems we face without fear of retaliation and punishment, if we had a contract which Delta had to follow - legally. This is not a joke either. It can happen. Sign a card. Get your coworkers to sign a card. That's our path to stopping a bad joke.

I guess they feel all those RR's they're hiring are going to feel the need to resort to theft to try and earn a living? They could be right you know? But there is a solution.

Pay them a liable wage.

Nah. Better to just have clear backpacks and make EVERYONE feel like the company thinks they're thieves.

Here we go. What's a "Liable Wage"?

How about making them full time like you? Opening up more stations that would probably be opened if Delta was a union shop. (think RDU, SAN, CLT, MIA) Set a true policy on the RR to FT/PT ratio and stick to it so people who aren't in Atlanta know what it takes for them to bump up?

Dude we have it so good wearing blue, IMHO you wouldn't last a week in a spoke wearing purple.

That's an excellent flyer and people should make copies of it and tape them in the bellies of aircraft all over the Country. Tape them up in Locker Rooms and Bathrooms and throw them on break room tables.

Unequal pay for equal work is not ok.
Better to just hand them directly to coworkers; anything left on a table gets tossed by mgmt.
Go to any Union office and I would bet they would let you print up hundreds in cities all over the Country. Then you pick a day in a concentrated and coordinated effort and tape them inside of the belly of every aircraft you can. Make sure you have multiple people in those cities ready to do it so the company doesn't try to single out any individuals and keep them scrambling.

I'm sure you don't have enough management that can crawl into the belly of every domestic flight you work in a day. Especially in the hubs.
