cabin service out sourced

If anyone can lower the bar to keep dues payers on board the Totally Worthless Union can and will!!! That is why the TWU is the laughing stock of the industry. Who ever they can sell out to keep thier 6 figure salaries, free car and unlimited A4, first class passes...........#&$@ers!

I am in no way sticking up for the TWU, but come on.....?

In one sentence many of you are crying that the industrial unions only care about dues, and in the other you are saying that they do not care about members and are willing to give up dues.... WTF?

I would guess this decision had very little to do with what any union member wanted and everything to do with what a board member wanted. Plain and simple, put the blame where the blame is due. YOUR COMPANY did this to your cleaning crews!!!

Stand by and biactch on this board.....or do something about it.

Knock, Knock, Dumbass.
Not caring about the members is obtaining concessions to keep the dues flow.

One member gets a jobs at the expense of many members pay and benefits. There is the conflict that you cannot grasp.

Maybe saving a job or two without several other members funding is might get a different view on postings here. The other thing you missed is that the industrial union leader does not suffer right along with the member concessions. The industrial union appointed gets to keep everything and more. Is that over your head?

Angry little man, I can't even guess what you are trying to say. Have another drink and try again.

LOL, very well put Anomaly. You can't expect much more from Simpleton Pettyson, he/she seems to think if you are not trying to belittle someone or calling them names when they don't share the same beliefs then that is quality communication and supurb people skills.

Before everyone demonizes all these contract workers doing our planes, I'd like to applaud American For outsourcing cabin service. They got rid of the one part of the job I couldn't possibly stand to do any further. And to imagine that some people in other stations were getting top dollar to pick up little gum wrappers off the plane's floors in seatback pockets was appalling. So right now I do have the best job in the world I load I unload the push it out I walk away nothing more nothing less I love it.

Yes, I totally agree in another 10 years American will no longer employ fleet service clerks at the smaller stations only the big five.

Outsource cities due to Departure Limit – All stations w/less then 15 daily departures (5475 annually) would be outsourced. Seventeen (17) TWU staffed cities would remain (AUS, BOS, DCA, DFW, JFK, LAS, LAX, LGA, MCO, MIA, ORD, SFO STL, ATL, SAT, SJU & TPA). These cities are protected from outsourcing as long as annual departures exceed 2555 for the duration of this agreement.

I think he mean't all Fleet Service, but I could be wrong. I would tend to agree with you though, AA/US will have unionized fleet for the foresesable future.

It would be pretty tough to replace all of the fleet service clerks let's say at Dallas, the logistics of that would be nightmarish to say the least, there was an airline in Las Vegas that was doing a fantastic business. Stock was worth $40 a share they were making money And then one day they marched everybody into the conference room and in the airport and fired a mall and their words to them were "if you'd like to apply for your same job at minimum-wage here are the applications".
