APA Pilots Reject TA

Having been through 2 BK's I can tell you that I'm happy to see a labor group have the guts to say no. You can help them destroy your contract by giving in or you can make them take it. I would prefer to make them take it from me.

Ditto. I am simply amazed how much has been given back willingly. Congrats to APA pilots for voting their way.

My point all along. Either way we are all going to get screwed. Voting Yes just gives the company permission to do it.

Either way, they win. The question really is "how much do YOU want to lose?"

The only thing accurate in the whole post was probably the 3rd wife reference.

Which airline is this that has 737 CA getting paid 175k/yr., and do you have a link to the application site?

You are always going to get the jokers second guessing. You guys were smart and had guts to say no. It isn t about your pay. They will blow what you give in weeks. Hang tough and stay away from Doug Parker. He is not your friend except to use.

Ask the USAirways pilots what they got for "helping". They got bent over for years. You guys did the right thing. Make them take it from you. You helped long enough and they blew it. Your wages are not the solution. Look at LUV.

Well do you curl up in a ball and beg the bully for mercy or do you at least give him a bloody nose?

I prefer the Bloody Nose option.

Good Jobs pilots, as a Line mechanic I think I can say 77% of us are behind you guys.
Lets get ready to rumble.

If you want to win, let's all walk out for one day. Then the BOD will just call Doug and get the ball rolling. No more Horton. Problem is that even though the pilots voted no, I still don't believe they will do anything else to get anything better. So using your analogy, I'd rather have the bloody nose than be in a coma on life support.

I'm all for fighting, except the deck isn't by any stretch of the imagination stacked in our favor. I see it ending in a disaster for the APA. I hope I'm wrong, I just don't see it.

The APA did the right thing. There is a presidential election coming and jobs are precious. So are the employment numbers. There has never been a better time for APA to take Horton to the brink.

Ask USAirways pilots. Make them take it. Giving it to them is the worst option.

I voted NO on my contract and was prepared for the term sheet to be put in place. The pilots I come across have a sense of entitlement, and say the judge will force AA to negotiate further, or the company won't enforce term sheet because they are scared of the APA. Now I'm looking forward to see who will blink first. Then if APA's contract is not abrogated on aug 15, will the FAs vote their LBO down on aug19?

Those are but 2 scenarios in about a dozen that could happen. Furthermore, you don't seem to be looking past 8/15.

You question about "who blinks" will most likely not fully be answered for months.

I would guess the judge will abrogate, but then what? Will the company impose ALL of the term sheet items? Some of them? If so, which ones? Will the company impose the LBFO? Will the company temporarily leave everything as is while we negotiate a new deal?

Who knows. The bottom line is, we will not know whether we made out better in the long run until months from now. This may end up being a knock down drag out street fight that could get Eastern like. If you don't think the pilot group is up to it your are sorely mistaken. Not only did the LBFO get shot down by a sizable margin, it did so after weeks of incredibly ONE SIDED lobbying and fear mongering by the union.

We will not back down.

I hope you're right, I really do. I'm just not sure what AA might do. I see all scenarios being plausible. I do think they are worried about an operational disaster. Which by the way I think would be the fastest way to get what is fair and reasonable. Neither of which, we haven't seen yet. I honestly can't get a sense of our vote. Some days they are all no and then others it is all yes. I know a lot haven't voted yet, and will wait till the end. I really hope they don't forget! I really dont like the uncertainty a no brings. But I totally get the stand, but an undetermined time with no contract sounds way worse. Like i said, I'm still trying to get a reasonable no argument from someone using facts on the F/A side.
