Rumor out there that AA selling the A330's to jetblue for greater access to Europe/South America....announcement tomorrow.
I did breeze by a couple of articles this morning that said several "key" dems were backing the extension that they have to extend to March. Also read where the unions are pushing it hard as well and even read where American Airlines is also in full support of extending the assistance thru March 2021. I do agree with ya the more airlines need to chime in and help support the mission of extending the assistance thru 3-21. If they do not extend the assistance you will see thousands upon thousands of job losses, economy crashing and of course the major, MAJOR increases in unemployment filings with the possibility of draining the benefits. If no assistance extension we will see a major hit on the economy. Sign the petitions for the unions it will help IMO.1AA
My question is? Why hasn't the ASSociation made this a BIG Deal, Why aren't they pushing the AFLCIO and other Labor groups within our industry to Band together in A JOINT Effort?
Sending hundreds of the same letters or a Petition will NOT make any difference IMO, Unless the airlines, and the Unions of such get together and make a substantial push to make this happen, The US Government will do what has planned, for the cares act. Why NO Joint statement form the CEO's of ALL the airlines stating facts as to the problems that will arise with the stoppage of this Money?
We have not seen any letters yet that pertain to the M&R group, Nor have we seen any substantial package either, just news reports and papers in Dallas stating that AA has said this.
If AA, UAL, SWA, JetBlue, Frontier, Spirit, Alaska, Horizon, Delta, and all the rest want to survive then it is IMO their job to make this happen. They have lots of powerful lobby people in place. It's up to THEM..

The problem is there are just to many not fully prepared to retire with savings and a solid 401.yeah, they don't want to leave. some guys tell me 9 months salary they're gone, but 6 months, no way, they're staying...whatever.
it goes against conventional wisdom, looks like the company is indifferent as to $15/hr people vs. $35/hr with 6 weeks paid VC people leaving. since aa is self-insured, you'll get 70+ year old FSCs in hospitals...older workforce = more medical issues.
I never thought the 330 were coming back, the 787 can do the job from MIAMakes no sense unless AA is abandoning the MIA market
the way to check is to ask and hopefully, get a reply from kev.
airlines, other than aa, keep changing their packages like we change shirts.
we saw at southwest, they couldn't keep up with the new packages offered by the company.
i heard this from an aa guy...timing of this corresponds with delta's earnings - so, i figured i'd ask.

I’m almost 60 but I know if I can I must build my retirement savings in the next 4 plus years so I can go by 65
You have to be smart some folks just waste their money and don’t think retirement till it’s too late
Maybe the asso. should request AA to match what SWA offered their mechanics as well as others, a full years salary, 2080 X's hourly rate at time of exit.i don't argue that, i'm sure there are many in the same boat.
the 35+ year seniority guys i know, have plenty of money. property(ies) paid off. remember, these guys' pensions weren't touched in BK. they are looking at $2200-$2400 a month in income if they leave.
they are staying because they have time to hide with easy shifts and earn topped-out cc and fsc money.
i do believe some will leave if lump sum goes to 1 year and not the ridiculous 6 months. 6 months tells me the company doesn't care if they stay or go.

Close but no cigar, not how sure the rumor went from a code share (too grow International flying on AA widebodies) became a selling Jet Blue widebodies to do their own International flying? That sounds like a case of Hanger telephone if I have ever heard it.
Would not surprise me
NHBB. I posted the numbers once I got it so everyone on here cld see what they are
I dont know how many will take AA up but if AA truly wanted to they cld of done something like DL or better. As much as I wld of taken a VLOA for a period of time I refuse to do it bec it's really chicken crap. I do know a number of my colleagues who may take VLOA bec they have a second job or they just need a break I fear that this may not be end of it.
