Parker is going to split this pig into two or more pieces once the vote is complete if not sooner. All the huffing and puffing on either side is irrelevant. Parker cannot run an operation with a pilot group as fractured as this one. He's not even going to try. Question is who will be the buyers? My bet is that somehow AMR will be in the mix.
US Airways has been running separate operations and work groups for a long time whipsawing all the way to industry leading substandard contracts (Piedmont PSA Allegheny) Glass and gang are professional at it and the pilot group is very vulnerable.AMR and Eagle wrote the book on Whipsawing work groups

QUOTE
Ironic that nobody on the East side ever mentions what else Doug has said - that "old" US was facing liquidation without the merger. If Doug's words are going to carry so much weight, what do the numerous mentions of East liquidation say for East "career expectations" at the time? BTW, Lakefield basically said the same in BK court filings, which I've quoted before.

Seems that the West has shrunk, although they had airplanes scheduled for delivery when the merger was announced. Meanwhile, East had no airplanes scheduled for delivery and was scheduled to shrink further, but hasn't only because of airplanes that were on no delivery schedule when the merger was announced.

Jim,

Wasn't bankruptcy used to remove about 60 post merger overlap aircraft? I believe 20 or so should have been removed from the West operation but could not be as leases could'nt be broken. So, they were removed from the East instead causing those pilots to take a bullet for the West?

Yes, this is a question!

To All:

On Feb. 15th during a trip I happened to visit the DCA crew room and noted five or six pilots sitting around the big table with those handsome yellow lanyards. I wanted one, as I had recently decided that USAPA was the only way to go. One of the gentleman present offered to give me a tie tack as the lanyards were all gone. The following represents some of the issues we discussed at that table on the afternoon of Feb. 15th.

"So who will be our negotiating committee chairman. Mowrey right?". Steve smiled and said, "well yes, of course".

Respectfully,
I used to think AWA320 was the king of FUD. Sorry to say you and him are sharing the regal status collectively lately. If your going to post something like this, at least you could check the facts in the present and get it straight.

The writer of said missive is a former ALPA rep and staunch supporter. That's OK. But since that was written, Mowery has said he will hold NO, that's zero, nada any type of negotiating position with USAPA. Besides, the current structure for the negotiating committee is to advise the professional negotiator.

Finally I offered this writer "gentleman" a lanyard the beginning of March and he respectfully declined. Enough said.

Yes, East aircraft left post-merger announcement, particularly the returns to GE in the 2nd half of 2005 and early 2006. However, the agreements that resulted in those aircraft returns were pre-merger agreements, filed with the court in late Nov 2004 and approved by the judge in Dec 2004. So those returns were scheduled to happen with or without the merger.

I've concerns that you're perhaps being a bit mean-spirited...I mean: Oh well...Sigh...so said "gentleman" is just yet another lying, conniving, and completely dishonest Alpoid weasel who's latest conversational contrivance failed even the functional FUD test miserably......at least he thinks the lanyards are "handsome"....he can't be "all bad"

So you clowns again can't defend yourself with facts. I want just one of you geniuses to show me where the facts of post #27 are not true. Thats right facts don't matter to you.

Refer to post #38 for starters...and actually read it. I'm always up for any actual "facts" that you may have to eventually, perhaps someday anyway, actually offer though. Despite the currently cherished Alpoid notion; FUD isn't actually synonomous with Fact. The East knows the "nameless" individual in question...you don't. It's far easier for you to swallow "hook line and sinker" deep without the requisite background knowledge.

Speaking of facts: Is there any truth to the rumour that Alpa's "forgiven" any individual(s) financial issues for the west membership?... and by so doing; reinstated any to "good standing"?..That's an honest question on my part, as that seems absurd to me, but has circulated around a bit regardless...and I'm no great personal fan of FUD from any sources. We may fully disagree on virtually everything, but I'm not interested in accepting, nor putting out BS. I'm sure we'll find no common accord on my last statement for that matter ;) Still = True or False on the Alpa "forgiveness" question, if you will sir.
