Maybe now all these threads with hundreds of posts complaining about the same thing will go away. Nah, probably not ..East will always find something to whine about.
And the west. It works both ways. Think about it though, what a boring place this would be.

I'm curious. How long have you been a pilot for America West? Also, did you not read what I wrote about DOH here at US Airways? Seniority is everything here. The sooner you accept it, the better off you will be. Get over it.

Hey FlightChic... just like your USAPA thugs you fail to understand the difference between seniority and longevity! Let me ask you this... the bottom east pilot at US Air (on property) prior to the merger with 18+ years of service (longevity) was where ... ah at the bottom of the "seniority" list. So thanks to this merger, US Air pilots are able to keep their jobs instead of having find the local unemployment office. And now due to their false sense of entitlement they expect to take AWA seniority to make up for the hard times?? I don't think so!

It was a SENIORITY integration not a longevity integration. It's going to be fun to what this whole USAPA implode on itself. So who are they going to blame now that big bad alpa is gone... what a joke!

And I have been furloughed twice in this career so don't preach to me on that.

and so did yours. Now the 12 million in dues is going to be shouldered by 3500 east pilots. I'm guessing you won't get more than 5% of the west to pay a dime. Good luck with that...

Actually, since ALPA National only returned 25% of dues money to the US Airways MEC, only $4 million has to be collected to equal the $12 million that was "taken" before. We no longer have to spend $8 million a year to support ALPA National.

NOBODY wants your job. We keep ours, you keep yours. We keep our attrition, you keep yours. If you guys had agreed to that in the first place, this vote wouldn't have happened. You guys are complaining that the East had 400 upgrades in 2.5 years. Well, yea, we've had a bunch of retirements. But no, that was too much for the West folks. They wanted our jobs as well as their own.

And don't give me that crap about "career expectations" either. Anybody in the airline business since 9/11 knows there isn't any.

Well I did read that USAPA inherits the contracts in place for East and West, didn't read anything about it inheriting arbitration awards...hmmmm Guess we'll let the lawyers figure that one out.

Have to admit, This is the first time I've seen ALPA post anything so fast on the alpa site regarding Airways......hmmm...guess we hit a nerve?

A change in representation does not set aside binding arbitration awards.

So according to AWPPA, USAPA does not protect AWA's pre merger careers? So if they put fences around all the hubs that will solve that. I am not part of management, however I dont think Parker had any plans to add hubs on the east coast or start euopean opps from the east coast. Nor do I think Bruce Lakefield had any intentions of creating a west coast operation. So fences around all bases would solve this. I still don't understand that if there are fences and senority is based off of DOH why the AWA pilots would be upset? They would still be based in PHX and would hold their current FO/CAP position just like they would be if there was not a merger. And AWPPA came out 3hrs later so that meant it was already drafted. They didn't even give USAPA a chance to represent everyone.

I don't think anyone truly understands the ultimate result of this vote. Nobody wants to hear both sides of the story???! Why the West pilots are dissapointed, and the same goes for why the East see's this as a victory, and they were treated unfairly.. The truth hurts.
I just hope this doesn't further divide US as an airline, but I believe it is too late. :( Consolidation is evident, and all work groups might be in trouble.

It would seem to me that the new union takes everything on day one, as is. Contracts and arbitration award, status quo. I don't think decertifying a union, invalidates the award. That will be the first order of business in the courtroom. I just hope that eventually all pilots will learn to deal with what been handed to them.

FINALLY SOMETHING GOOD COMING TO EAST SIDE OF LIFE! CONGRATULATIONS TO THE GROUP OF PILOTS.
