No one said they should not get credit. They should come back right ahead of AWA furloughs. OH! That's right... AWA didn't have anyone on furlough. They were actually hiring pilots!! They should be the first to come back to the company when needed. Right where they were the day before the merger. In fact right where they were when they got furloughed. At the bottom, on reserve, in the right seat, with 10 years to go for an upgrade. That's what they left with. Why should they get more than what they had before. Wouldn't that be a Windfall? Now if you want to give them pay credit for the years on furlough, I'm all for that. But that's not what we're talking about here, is it?

It is your perspective that is selfish and twisted and wreaks of entitlement and theft. No surprise there.

I'm curious. How long have you been a pilot for America West? Also, did you not read what I wrote about DOH here at US Airways? Seniority is everything here. The sooner you accept it, the better off you will be. Get over it.

Oh boy, scary scary letter. Might one suggest that everyone cools their heels, and watches what happens??? See if a pay increase comes along with that reorganized seniority list, with protections, which is more aligned with a reasonable approach to combing the lists... Then you can cry bloody murder. Until then, all your FUD is just that.....assumption as to what will happen. And well the west side has been pretty off their game in calling what is going to happen. first it was not even 200 cards, then USAPA was bankrupt, then it was no insurance products...then it was the vote would be in favor of ALPA, now it's "the west pilots careers are decimated" I guess that last comment is ok to do to 60% of the seniority list but not 40???

Anyways if a list is delivered with protections, and more reasonable than nic, AND it comes with a pay raise and contractural improvements, are you going to throw that pay raise away???? Vote down that pay raise, just because of seniority??? Seems the table has dramatically changed now, huh???

BTW....anyone know if Beebe has to come home now?

I believe he (or she) is an ALPA shill working for UAL.

We will take the Pay raise and 100% Nic., in case you haven't read the company message, all prior agreements stay in place and will be honored, read the hub.

Lots of anger out west, threats of jihad, AWAPPA, no dues, no jumpseats, and of course the usual stream of vulgar epithets.

It would be tempting to gloat, insist on pay back, rub their faces in their defeat.

Set aside the fact this would mean lowering ourselves to the level of some of the more "outspoken" of our counterparts out west; it would be a strategic blunder as well.

We need to "turn the other cheek", at least for now. Let them spend their anger. Many westyz are convinced a staple job is coming. We need to dispel that rumor. We need to make a

best effort to bridge the gap that has developed between the two groups.

This election was by no means a landslide. The hard work is ahead of us. I'm delighted we have won, but hubris and arrogance are a recipe for failure.

Go back a year. What could Nicolau have handed down which, by dissappointing both sides, would have been a truly fair and equitable award.

Remember the Golden Rule.

I'll add my congratultions as well. I give credit where it is due, my compliments. Delivering on all the promises may prove more difficult than now imagined, but we'll see how it goes. As it sits now, I don't think Alpa particularily cares, but I tell you what, if Northwest follows your lead old Prater and Alpa may be in a heap a trouble.
Thanks. You're are correct, it will not be easy. Just my opinion, the carriers mentioned by Seham, if they pull it off like us, ALPA already is in a heap of trouble. So much for Praters cushy job post ALPA retirement.

ALPA is clearly in trouble. I don't expect it to affect Prater much though. I think he will be shown the door soon.

It will be a bit difficult for him to land a job outside of flying 'ala Woerth. But I believe he just might be back flying the line again in the very near future.

I am reminded of a great Russian leader:

Whether you like it or not, history is on our side. We will bury you!
Nikita Khrushchev (1894-1971)

Maybe now all these threads with hundreds of posts complaining about the same thing will go away. Nah, probably not ..East will always find something to whine about.

compelling choice of ideological leadership for analogy…

didn’t khruschev play a seminal role in the approval and construction of the berlin wall?

compelling...just compelling...

incidentally, CONGRATULATIONS USAPA!!
