AA and Labor Negotiations-2020

I'm not sure what you mean you and I don't have to support anything but in general if your work FOR a union you would be expected to support all union ideology

The TWU demands a "closed shop" which is contractual.
I do not work for the union, I work for American Airlines.

I am not sure if IAM has a closed shop or not?

They should be working for the membership not just for the union as in this asso case at AA.
Their main concern is with the union and you know it. I would imagine the heads of AMFA are having some sleepless nights too. There is a change coming to the industry come October barring another bailout

NOT with AMFA.
This is what a lot of guys do not understand. YES it's all about working for the union with the TWU, IAM, teamsters ect... All the industrial unions. But with AMFA as well as other C&C unions, they are much, much more geared to be all about the membership which is why it is so much better to be in a C&C union for the mechanics. Just like most all the Pilots are at all airlines, but a small few, and the F/A's at most airlines. Once the get represented by the C&C unions their eyes really open to the concept and they never look back from their. It's one of those things you just have to experience first hand and physically to see the huge difference. The best gauge you AA'ers have to go by is call up your buddy and fellow mechanic from AA who is now the National Director of AMFA and straight up ask him about the differences, it's like night and day. And once ya do it you all will say that that was a no brainer, and we should have done it a long time ago. Sign them there cards folks.
