AA and Labor Negotiations-2020

Many here make to much money and won’t receive those checks
So it will be income related restrictions?
Dam. I wanted to take mine and put it into the stock market until it came back and then remove it and donate it to charity or pass it along to people in need. You know the ones too lazy to go get a job when jobs were plentiful. 🙂

I just want all the Republicans on this form that is looking forward to Trump giving you money for free

ITS CALLED WELFARE

Smile. You are now ok with it.
BTW, I just read an article for what you are referring to. After reading the article I must say you are wrong with your guess that it will be considered "welfare" the "proposal" will fall more in line with an "Economy Boost Assistance Program" to help people in the time of "NEED" and "CRISIS". Huge difference from "welfare".

Crema, are you really hearing of "layoffs"? First I have heard this word being used even within a rumor. I hope you are mistaken. WoW! Less than a week to vote and already hearing the dramatica "layoffs" coming to the fleet boys. Hope you guys have a good rainy day fund saved up. But, at least if you are laid off, then unemployment benefits would be much more attainable.

they're offering fleet the old stand-instead 'buyout' + 2 years insurance.

the roadmap looks like the company will see how many take leaves and how many take the meager, but enhanced (2 years insurance, don't believe it was there before) buyout. contract passes, one seniority list..then, lay-offs.

believe me, it will more than just fleet boys.

i don't like spreading rumors and usually dismiss most of what i hear. look around at the numbers and i wish i could dismiss what i heard.

there will be layoffs. i heard up to an apprx. seniority year. i don't want to spread that because that isn't for sure.

people are afraid. to alleviate the fear and panic, a treatment drug(s) need/s to be approved. the sooner the better.

until the panic and fear disappears...loosening of travel and gathering restrictions; how could one not think that layoffs won't happen?

the airlines aren't asking for money to pay everyone to come to work and watch tv.

Layoffs kind of a given with this situation. The politicians are also making it clear that employees will be a large consideration with any aid given. Considering Parkers dismal record with the stock buy backs he needs to be really in tune with what the check writers want to see.

I would imagine pretty deep...

I would imagine pretty deep...

it's not good. i couldn't see how this virus could do this, but, it has.

9-11?? anthrax? tsa working out the kinks? 3 weeks ago, i thought that was much worse. i was wrong, this is much worse.

hopefully, the govt. will stand up and not allow our industry to collapse.

Yes it is, and in my great state of Texas, Governor Abbot just announced starting tomorrow night at midnight all restaurants and bars will be closed. Layoffs in the masses I’m afraid.

it’s great to hear that the OK state of Texas is finally doing what the golden state has already done ;-)

A quote from Jetnet.

"We have reduced international flying by 75% and our domestic schedule by 30% in April, with plans to reduce it even further in May. In all, we have reduced our April schedule by more than 55,000 flights and will be parking approximately 130 of our widebody aircraft and 320 of our narrowbody planes".

Will there be layoffs it’s hard to say, but yes at some point I think so. How deep is hard to say.
With these airplanes not flying it should give maintenance time to work on aircraft and get them in good shape once they are back going so I think for maintenance any layoffs will be at a minimum
Fleet is another story, I hope any fleet layoffs can be helped by some going to part time and I think these will also be no longer then 3 months at the outside hopefully shorter
We would all be fools to think there won’t be some, but hopefully it will be minimized and short lived

Can you say where you found that?

On the Jetnet home page, click the Coronavirus: The latest on our response link under headlines. Once you get to that page look on the R/H side for Latest from Doug & Robert, then click the Read the latest link.

Only hear rumors of layoffs. I think the company trying to see how many are willing to sign up for the VEOP which ironically they want it by 1159pm march 23. Yet we vote on the TA on the 26th. Something tells me mgmt wants those who sign up for the VEOP so they dont get the signing bonus.
