AA and Labor Negotiations-2020

Date of Ratification
He was asking when, not what is DOR.

Food for thought. I like how you speak without sugarcoating it. It really should make a lot of folks wonder.
Question; Is there any language in this new contract that covers the forced majeures? Or some other language that would allow them to pull back the contract??
We are hearing rumors that our current ongoing nego's at SWA are possibly coming to a temp halt over current events to be more focused on. Part of these rumors are the threat of take what is being offered before it gets worse. And that's here at SWA with only 4.6 billion in debt not 30 billion plus.
I assume you guys will take it and run like hell and hope they don't file for BK???

With all these events going without fans I think the airlines are next.
It’s going to be recommended to ground the airlines for a time.
Bet on it
Our agreement is going to be the least of our worries

You read our agreement, did you find anything? We haven't voted yet so there is nothing legally binding yet. So yes AA can pull the agreement and site world events affecting the financial operations of the company.
Nothing surprises me with this AmericaWest management team and the dysfunctional association.
Even if we had an agreement they can still go to the federal courts that are anti-union and make changes. That's an extreme since I believe this will pass and be forgotten in about six months. The financial affects will last the rest of the year. The company will keep reminding us of this well after recovery. We vote in two weeks. We have yet to be informed on locations and how it's going to be done. Good news is we have the T/A to review.

I think bankruptcy is a real possibility now, but it’s going to depend on how quickly travelers return. Fuel cost are lower than after 9/11
And there are not as many airlines flying today as back then
But yes this is now something that could happen

laa didn't file after 9-11.

laa filed after a few summers of $140 oil and the slow recovery from 2008-2009 near depression. laa was funding full pensions while everyone else wasn't. laa couldn't dictate higher fares.

i think the govt. will get their arms around this quickly. hundreds of thousands of airline employees. trump has taken heat and doesn't need airline employees angry at him.

i believe the govt. will do everything possible to avoid BKs. emergency loans/funds, tax credits.

Well again Trump is going to be forced into an emergency declaration and the airlines are going to be forced to shutdown for a time period.
If sporting events are going without fans why the hell would anyone feel safe on a plane.
And now some researchers are saying this virus may be airborne
If that’s confirmed better get ready for a long holiday and possibly reduced paychecks

That was a completely different management team. BK happy Parker and his US Air team is a whole other ballgame.

So 1AA, you call those of us who see the possibly of layoffs sooner rather than later "Drama Queens", yet you throw this article out there as if it is a possibly...interesting.
Look at the source of the article some dude in kenya for god sake

It's a useful article to read. You can form your own opinions. There are several out there about the same topic. I believe the media outlets are the Drama Queens. AA already took steps to curb costs. AA's higher debt is why these articles are popping up. It slaps the company in the financial backside for doing the buybacks and not paying down their debt when profits and loads are high.
Maybe Parker is now forced to rethink that airlines will lose money when events like this occur. This is another test that this AmericaWest management team needs to wake up because this is AA not AmericaWest. Now that fares are dropping even lower to attract passengers in certain markets they have choices on who to fly. Fly AA in their cramped up seats and tiny lavatories with wicker basket snacks and limited access to IFE or someone else like JetBlue, United, Delta or SWA.
No it's not look at the source .God you guys act like bitches at times

How do you spell timber with a F(or two)
Tim-effing-ber! Hold tight folks. We will make it, but gonna be a bumpy ride...

used to have a uncle that would stand in the middle of the room and impart all his knowledge. one by one the people in the room would leave. He still would be talking to the wall because he knew he was always right. so I guess the moral of the story is keep on talking until you satisfied yourself that you are right in every way......have fun.........I am

In a presentation today regarding the T/A ... For fleet at least... We were told if this is turned down then itll be shelved for 4 to 5 years n the next one wld be less. Also we are the only group to have the p.s. put into contract whereas it not like that with any other groups

Step one...just announced.

Offering extended unpaid, voluntary leaves of absence: We are evaluating all of our staffing levels to make sure we’re appropriately staffed for our evolving schedule. We are working with union partners to offer voluntary leaves on an elective basis, and will share more as soon as agreements are reached.

Close your eyes, click your heels together and repeat after me.
