AA and Labor Negotiations-2020

As for Base Maintenance, it would be a good time to catch with programs outside of the standard checks.
Oasis certain ECO's etc...

So 1AA, you call those of us who see the possibly of layoffs sooner rather than later "Drama Queens", yet you throw this article out there as if it is a possibly...interesting.
It's a useful article to read. You can form your own opinions. There are several out there about the same topic. I believe the media outlets are the Drama Queens. AA already took steps to curb costs. AA's higher debt is why these articles are popping up. It slaps the company in the financial backside for doing the buybacks and not paying down their debt when profits and loads are high.
Maybe Parker is now forced to rethink that airlines will lose money when events like this occur. This is another test that this AmericaWest management team needs to wake up because this is AA not AmericaWest. Now that fares are dropping even lower to attract passengers in certain markets they have choices on who to fly. Fly AA in their cramped up seats and tiny lavatories with wicker basket snacks and limited access to IFE or someone else like JetBlue, United, Delta or SWA.

I think bankruptcy is a real possibility now, but it’s going to depend on how quickly travelers return. Fuel cost are lower than after 9/11
And there are not as many airlines flying today as back then
But yes this is now something that could happen
Fuel hedging looks like a good idea about now.

Anyone talking layoffs at this point are acting like Drama Queens. 30 days of flights from Europe canceled is not a major issue to layoff. I can see voluntary leaves. If things continue longterm say four to eight months of European cancellations and Asian cancellations then I would start to be concerned.
I agree about the layoffs. The folks that can retire probably should as to help with the padding of younger folks that have to keep working.
Not doubting you on your guess, but my guess would be 3-6 months on the EU flights as long as the china ones are still stopped as well.

When is the DOR?
That is the golden question. Incredible you guys have a T/A (as called by the asso.) and you don't even have the DOR date. You also don't even have other language written that they (asso) is claiming will come soon but possibly not in time for the 3-26 vote date IF that remains to be true.
Just trust them Duke, remember the TWU has done the, "we will fill in the language later" act before.
You guys are in a very hard spot once again and will be forced (by life events) to vote this contract in (IMO) I just still hope the M&R are focused enough to get rid of the asso. as their representational organization after the vote...

Not as hard as the APA (Pilot group) and the APFA (Flight attendant group).

No silly, yesterday was the announcement of the review was completed :)

Association Concludes JCBA Review
Still waiting for written confirmation on the signing bonus that was not in the T/A. They could have placed a LOA on the signing bonus. They added a bunch of other items.
