2015 Fleet Service thread

Ok guys. Digest this one. Today the Association sat down with the Company and presented them a FULL comprehensive proposal.

In return the Association got back from the Company, NOTHING!!!!!

Didn't Doug say in all those town halls that the Company was ready to negotiate?

Hogwash. Again they presented to our negotiators.

NOTHING....
I guess the company wanted to see what the union wanted before making a formal offer, but that is weak but not surprising. We are paying for the new deal with our old one and the company knows it. They will probably craft an offer that will have some crap in it and back and forth it will go. Total compensation worked in a way with no real weak area is what I hope they shoot for.

I am unsure if you are confused or if you are disingenuous... when I say "cost neutral", I am not saying within the total CBA, but rather as the cost of the options as being equal compared against each other.  If the pension costs the same as the 401K and both having the same sizable increase compared to the current respective CBA, then they are still "cost neutral" compared to each other, and thus, still cost the same.  If one was more expensive, then I would like to know which way the Association was leaning with the idea of some increase in the overall CBA. So would it be with furlough and recall obligations as whatever "costs" would be from the Company's perspective would be the ability to remove topped-out workers from the payroll, but between the respective CBAs those costs should be the same.

I guess I just want to know after all the closed door discussions for which I understand some things cannot be discussed publicly as not to tip one's hand to the Company, what are the Association's objectives in terms of a pension vs. a 401K or even the furlough rights which could be done so without mentioning dollars?

I don't think that is too much to ask.
I'm never disingenuous and if I'm confused I make phone calls and ask questions.

The rest of what you want to know you'll have to ask the Association guys themselves.

They have a Facebook page where the guy does a very good job at answering certain things he can or is told he can answer. If you don't like that truth, there's nothing I can do about it.

The company wants to get this done. Proof, look at the other work groups.
Of course they do, lol. They got a lot of things they wanted and I think the agents are going to learn the hard way that they took some solid hits for that nice payola.

They were doing really good in their negotiations up to the last moment from what I heard.

Can't say. I really don't have a crystal ball and I don't trust the Company. Why should I? We can all see now that they really are trying to "abscond" with our money so.

But I do try to stay positive as well.

I'll give you just one off the top of my head. Do they have a Part Time cap? Do we?

Do we have CARS? (Ok that was two)

Pilots and FAs had binding arbitration, and the agents were in section 6 at PMUS before their new CBA, which is concessionary.

And why is the APFA begging Dougie for more money and Doug said you have a CBA, deal with it.

Spoken like a true ignorant scab.
He has 5 years at AA. He would get knocked down to PT if he jumped the fence for the money.

4 hours per day would be the equivalent of only $15.00 per hour.

What do you think would be the tune he'd be singing then?

Brothers and Sisters:
As previously announced, on December 3
rd
, 2015, the TWU-IAM Association will
officially open negotiations with American Airlines and begin bargaining a joint
contract for the 30,000 ground workers at the world’s largest airline. We under-
stand that many of you are anxious to get to the table and we thank you for your
patience. Your representatives have worked tirelessly and carefully to ensure that
we enter into joint bargaining from a position of strength. We’re prepared and
we’re ready to fight to secure the best possible contracts for Association members,
including better wages, benefits, working conditions and retirement security.
The Association will communicate transparently with you throughout this process.
