There was something weird about that negotiations. They were taking their time and only a week before they got a TA had put that out in an update.

Bam. Out of nowhere they suddenly had a deal?????

Another situation where maybe a nuclear option was threatened because man were they desperate to sell that deal?
Management wanted first point of passenger contact when the Passenger servicers system cutover took place
This was huge leverage for CWA/IBT at the table

Why didn't they use it ?

It was and I also think they blew it. They folded when the chips were down. Even had one of their negotiators go full bore mutiny on them.

I think the Dispatchers might be the first group who didn't blow it?

Is anyone going to be laid off or down graded?

As of now NO
Has anyone been "displaced" yet? That's where I feel they're going to get you when the time comes. Either move or stay and accept a CARS position.

True. But those are pesky details to those who are only focused on the money and an expedited agreement. This group has shown no sign of learning from previous mistakes (UA Agreement). History will repeat itself. Glad I won't be around long enough to pay again.

Is there such a thing as 'union malpractice" there is definitely incompetence. But  the rank and file voted for it. I hope this does't attract Weassle's friends from the DL thread

Not gonna happen here. History is not going to repeat itself because our guys aren't going to send us out a POS.

So stick around and enjoy the ride just a little longer ograc.

On the last update it said that they had TA'd 12 Articles so far but I think there was actually one more TA'd and they showed working on 5 more. Grievance Procedure was a big one and hopefully that one can get done this week and they fire on all cylinders for a few more. They're off next week then they have one more week for April and 3 weeks in both May and June.

Like CB said. The company negotiators have scheduled a lot of weeks since the start of this in January so you have to think that they do have an emphasis to get this done. And personally I think TAing 12 or 13 articles so far is a pretty decent pace. Especially if they essentially had to write entirely new language to fit the two groups. I'm actually looking forward to seeing what they came up with on ideas and having to learn something maybe very different then what I've been used to in my career. That could be fun in stretching the mind?

We also need to keep up with and support our Brothers and Sisters in Maintenance and the other groups. Even though Parker has said no concessions. What's not a concession to one side certainly could be to the other when putting the pieces of the puzzle together. And if they hit a hard snag we may have to sit it out and wait for them to get past that? (Or vice versa)

All I know is that as much as we can we need to support these guys. Let them know that we appreciate the hard work and time away from their families that they're putting in for all of us. Hold down the fort so to say on the desperate people who want to rush them through to get to the cash grab. In the end rushing it through isn't going to help any of us if they make a damaging mistake in another area for the sake of expediency.

My old car can hold together just a little bit longer.
