2015 Fleet Service thread

This is a question for Charlie brown !!!! What is your take on this news hitting the streets today ??? My understanding is that PHL is gonna be affected by this pretty significantly, and what if any impact will this news have in negotiations? Also, I'm hoping the committee is taking lots of notes of all the progress at the other carriers as well !! I think most will agree with me here, that we need to re-invoke that "Concession Stand is CLOSED"  saying, and I hope the committee does not bring back a concessionary TA, regardless of the time frame !!! THIS GROUP HAS GIVEN ENOUGH !!!!

The company's increased commitment to regional jet service continues to increase. Unfortunately, the represented mainline (LUS / AA) below wing employees, are left out of this expansion in service and equation. Regional service to outline stations has allowed the company to outsource represented work in many outline stations. Nothing new. This expansion of regional service, and the subsequent impact on represented jobs below wing, has now spread to the hubs of the operation. I have an idea... let's base Scope Language on an inclusive number of both mainline and regional daily departures. This is one of the many reasons we should prepare for a long tough fight! Let's expect nothing less from the NC and ourselves as members! We're going to have to fight for every inch. While the company makes record breaking profits. How many mainline jobs are being added in CLT? ZIP!

The job increase in CLT for Piedmont is because they are switching to larger RJs, ie the CRJ900s.

True. Yet in represented outline stations, when they switch to larger regionals, such as the CRJ900, there is no increase in authorized staffing. HMMM...

Having worked a few RJs long ago, usually that's true... 3 person teams regardless if a DHC8, CRJ200 or CRJ900.  Only one person works the bin with the lead and an assist below.  How was CLT running them before the larger regional planes?

they've meet how many weeks and there's agreements on, no strike no lock out, leave of absence and uniforms????

good heavens

We have either 9 or 10 articles T/a,d. Not just those you listed. But no big issues yet. Probably the biggest we are working on so far is grievance procedure and representation. Which is a big issue. But to those that are never in trouble, then you could probably care less about it. I understand that people get restless, but we have maybe 40 + articles to go through and get done whether people like them or not. The majority can probably name maybe 10 articles if that, that they really care about. But, we have to deal with them all in negotiations. The team is ready to work on any article the company is ready to tackle. Unfortunately most of the ones that people care most about will come toward the end. That's just how the company has always handled negotiations.

I again will say, do not bring back anything concessionary, including giving back Cargo and Catering. If this is done, I will consider the Association a complete failure. I'm with robbed, NO NEGOTIATED CONCESSIONS!!

I do hear ya. And agree on the concessions. But I can't help how you feel about the association. It's done whether we all like it or not. We have a job to do. Let's do it and get it done.
