2015 Fleet Service thread

I take it you're not a fan of the progress so far? Be sure to express your feelings to the appropriate parties. May I suggest your next conference call.

Now my old friend it's time for you to stop living in the past. Get rid of those inner demons. Reastablish old connections and let them know you want to be a team player now. Make ammends to those you've unfairly wronged.

Let me recommend this book for you. I'm sure that you've heard of Tony Robbins? He even has CD's you can play in your car.

And I'll always be up for that coffee? C'mon you know you want to.

-Not "if," those meetings where scheduled for November 2014. You even tried to convince us those issues brought up at that time would be taken care or in a matter of weeks. Well, its been about 60 weeks with no resolution.

The information that one union told the other in order to gain the support for the continued backing of the stand alone Section 6 talks was not fulfilled.

-As you can see it takes more than 4 months to negotiate a CBA, not to mention a JCBA. But like you've said for the last 15 months....let's be patient.

So would you be happy if you had a joint CBA that didnt get you all the additional 14.5%?  Its been pointed out numerous times, you will gain more than any potential losses.

-Let me know when we get to your good timing.

You the unions are not in Section 1113 C talks, get your mind out of that mentality. And again, would you rather have had a CBA and miss out on DL's 14.5% increase?  Do you want to be like the APFA and be begging Doug for more money and being talk to take a long walk off a short pier?

-Were those initial issues from November 2014 addressed? No, they have not.

You seem to forget you were on the outside looking in when all that transpired.  Maybe your not trusted enough by the other Presidents, and fellow officers and reps, so your not privy to what is going on.  And those issue will be addressed after a successful JCBA, according to the Association Agreement.

And one more thing, you do know people in positions of power do read this board?

Good, they shouldn't harbor any illusions about the contempt the people  on the floor have for them. It's not all smiles and photo ops.

The Ass is dithering away our greatest chance to make some money before the next inevitable downturn in this business.

We'll have a contract for maybe a year before the losses start piling up, Wall Street starts beating the "High labor cost" drums and sings the "Crushing debt load" opera.

Who's gonna' foot that bill, again? It won't be the Wall Street analysts Parker kowtows to with buybacks and dividends...He's brilliant, refinances debt with cheaper debt.  :bleh:

Why make hay while the sun shines and retire debt so they don't end up burning all the furniture in the next downturn?

Every article in our eventual contract is extremely important and needs to be scrutinized and written correctly to avoid any misinterpretation. But I do agree that there could be a timeframe that puts us all in a hole if those gentleman in those rooms nit pick too long on every little line or word.

I'm sure those Gentlemen don't want to spend too long staying away from their families and for some getting back on the field and keeping in shape with their Brothers and Sisters? I'm sure they're not going to be rigid in their stances and will compromise with each other when that's the best avenue to continue to serve their members.

There are many important issues that will require tough negotiations in the future JCBA. While I respect the influence future economic conditions can have at the table... I would prefer we take a more patient approach. We will live with this potential JCBA for years to come. We have all experienced the adverse affects of rushed agreements. It's not always only about hourly wage. It's time to think long term collective improvement. Article by Article. Speaking of hourly wage... it's time to negotiate better entry level wages. Too much focus on the top scale wage. I expect those gentlemen to stand their post for the betterment of this combined membership. I look for honor, commitment and courage from this committee, to accomplish this goal. Let's get this done but get it done right!

Your heart is in the right place but the idea anyone is going to hold out to get a better starting salary for new hires is nuts. I could picture the union telling members we're done just waiting for a better starting salary . I cringe just thinking or the reaction

Well they should go up by at least the same percentage as we do? $9.00 per hour really stinks. Plus IAM side has a 12 year progression.

It honestly is the last thing on my mind. It took me awhile to get to where I am and that 16 year old waiting to graduate High School has to do his time just like us.

Sorry Cargo.

AND I'd like to see a tiered 401k as well. I've already got Palm trees and golf balls on my mind.

Glad you came to your senses. Thought you might have got hit in the head with a golfball

No you misconstrued the fact that I like Cargos participation here. He's a good motivator and soldier.

Actually shocks me that we have new hires here in MIA starting on third tier that are going to be making 65k before they even turn 30.

I don't fault them but man did they fall into chit.

I'm sure you'll be there to make sure they reach top pay; no matter what they do
