BEWARE: There seems to be a recurring problem with cockpit windows being left unlocked on some airplanes, especially in PHX. You won't notice it until takeoff, at least that seems to be the intent.

Also, there are reports of shoe polish being put on cockpit headphones. There are also switches not normally moved that are deliberately being placed in abnormal positions. In other words some strange 'practical jokes' are being played on east pilots by someone.

Check your 'six' because someone may be out to get you.
 
Had that problem a couple of years back. Many switches out of position. Solved that problem with a very long cockpit prep which delayed several flights. I had reported this to the company but did not get the desired results until the airplanes were late due to the long check and consultation with dispatch and maintenance.

The "9" was a fighter pilots airliner. It flew like a dream and it was the most mechanically sound aircraft if it was kept up maintenance wise.... Which US Airways mechanics did to a "T". It was so clean in the tailcone you could eat off floor. I really miss it.

And yes, we remember what the mirror was for.  It was for (and I hope this doesn't get me in trouble) secrectly watching the Utility girls or the pretty Flight Attenants as they walked down the aisle and cleaned the cabin.

FYI, it if IS true that intent or "mens rea" exists to try to "trip up" the next crew it IS a federal offense even if you don't properly do the before start flow. There isn't a pilot in the world that has NEVER missed an item on the checklist.....NEVER.

The failed strategy of Eric Ferguson and Leonidas is affirmed every bid.
The west was offered the Nicolau with a fence that would end now. Their greed has cost them everything.
Now, west pilots are the lowest paid, with the least opportunities.
It is only going to get worse. Has Ferguson asked for DOH yet? He will be begging for it soon.

Wow, bottom 330 capt. down around 85 or 86 hire I'm guessing. West pilots tell AOL enough is enough they screwed you guys over, recall your reps now. Join in the growth or stagnate in the desert. It's time to move on.

You have to give Cleary credit. He knew the Nicolau could not be enforced when USAPA was elected, and carried the torch. All the way to the end.
Ferguson was merely a slick talking suit with no facts to back up his tall tales.
