Why I Voted Yes

Maybe so Show me the money , I just see it a little different but don't discount your opinion. In my opinion as I stated before if you can't or don't change the culture a different Union would have the same unsupported impact and we would be right where we are now but I do agree that we need a total turn over in senior management. Like said it's just an opinion, not trying to imply it is fact.

Our unchangeable culture is mostly coming from the Institutional Politiics associated with the structure of the TWU Union and how leadership positions are obtained.

In my opinion, changing Unions and more importantly Union Constitutions, along with the resructuring of management and you stand a chance at real change. Keep the TWU and the Institutional Politics intact and new management will never change our culture.

Our problems are not just inept management, they are also Union problems.

I haven't agreed with you on anything but you are right on this one. Whether the IBT or Amfa is chosen at AA the mindset of the Title 1 employees is going to need changed. Collectively we are going to have to start thinking and acting like a Union or else the AA management train will keep running over us. We have too many "individual" or "good ol'boy" contracts within the TWU at AA TULE. We have TWU members holding positions created by the Company that were never placed in the bid system. At TULE we call them "clipboard jobs".This has caused even more divisions within the AMT group.

http://aviationblog.dallasnews.com/2012/08/american-airlines-will-ask-judge-to-toss-out-labor-contracts-if-unions-turn-down-their-deals.html/

An American Airlines spokesman confirmed Friday afternoon that the carrier will ask U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Sean Lane to toss out the collective bargaining agreements of unions that turn down the company’s latest contract proposals.
Earlier Friday, John Hale, American Airlines vice president of operations, told pilots that American will ask Lane to let the carrier abrogate the labor contracts if pilots turn down a tentative agreement.
Subsequently, the American spokesman confirmed that yes, American will also move to reject the contracts of any union that turns down the deal sitting before its members.
That removes the uncertainty lingering about the airline’s intentions, although it introduces a fear grenade into the situation.
Here’s the timetable:
– Two Transport Workers Union groups are voting on two tentative agreements, covering mechanics and related employees and maintenance stock clerks. Voting ends at 11:59 p.m. Tuesday, with results released Wednesday.
– The Allied Pilots Association members are voting on a tentative agreement. Voting ends at noon Wednesday, with results released soon afterward. The APA board of directors come into Fort Worth on Tuesday for meetings, and will be in session when the voting is tabulated.
– The Association of Professional Flight Attendants are voting on American’s “last, best and final offer,” with the union’s board declining to adopt it as a tentative agreement but deciding to send the proposal to members. Their voting ends at 10 a.m. Aug. 19.
– Between the TWU/APA votes and the APFA vote, U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Sean Lane is set to rule Aug. 15 on American’s March 23 motions to reject its unresolved union contracts. It’s up to American to ask the judge to delay that decision until after the APFA results come in, if American so desires.
Precipitating the public pronouncements was a report out of Los Angeles by a pilot who attended a July 26 meeting with Hale and Hale’s boss, senior vice president of operations Jim Ream. According to the report that’s been widely circulated among American Airlines employees, the executives left the impression that American really needs a labor deal and a no vote by APA members would bring a better deal.

ONE HOODWINK AFTER ANOTHER!

VISION 2025

On September 9, 2003 years of hard work came to fruition as voters of Tulsa County approved a one penny 13-year increase in the Tulsa County Sales Tax for regional economic development and capital improvements. The package called “Vision 2025: Foresight 4 Greater Tulsa” was the culmination of a long and arduous effort to grow economic and community infrastructure for future generations.

Proposition 2: Capital Improvements/American Airlines - $22.3 Million (2.5% of a penny). This proposal was an incentive for American Airlines, a leading employer in Tulsa for more than 50 years, to retain existing jobs and attract new ones at the company’s Tulsa Maintenance Base by providing funds for capital improvements, equipment, tooling and training

REALLY?

No one has given me one reason a NO VOTE will BENIFIT me more than a YES VOTE !
1. A yes vote will get me a 15% raise over 5 years, a no vote won't.
2. A yes vote will get me a 5.5 % 401k match, a no vote won't.
3. A yes vote will cause my deductibles to be lower than a no vote.
4. A yes vote will open the wages after 36 months for a comparison check with other airlines and bring us to the averge with no nagociations, a no vote won't.
5. Last and foremost a yes vote will keep 1600 more of my UNION BROTHERS and SISTERS EMPLOYED !
I have 27 years, i'm not scared of loosing my job today. But i am not willing to vote my union brothers and sisters jobs away to be outsourced. I don't understand a NO VOTE under these circumstances.

VOTE YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Your raise will be sucked up on your medical increase.
401K match? What about the lose of your pension?
You have to make that up if you want a decent pension.
More money spent out of your pocket.
Lower Deductibles? You obviously did not read the language.
Wage compensation with other airlines? You mean only two other
airlines. Once we merge with UsAir it leaves TWO airlines. Again did you really
read the text in the LBO?
Save jobs? Again I ask did you read the text or lack of in ARTICLE 42?
We have NO protection what so ever. 27 years or 27 months of seniority it is ALL gone.

Keep drinking the Kool Aid at the union hall.
You must be another union lackey following your masters orders to create fear
on this board. Nice try but it's too late.
Now go back to the hall and await your next set of instructions before posting again.

We can't wait to read your next post.
